This just happened to me and i got disconnected out of 4 buy-ins. It's adamc1988, just posting on the 1rake1s account for quickness. Basically i got a skype add off this random PR guy, i asked him who he was and he replied 'hey, gl'...which i thought was a bit odd but didnt put 2 and 2 together. At that time i was playing a $300 game and pretty much instantly disconnected for the full duration of the game. He then asked me if i know pam, i said no and deleted him from skype. I thought it must have just been my connection so i waited an hour and went back in the lobbies, i had a $200 in play and was registered in the $200 and $100 lobbies and i disconnected again for a good 10 minutes. Has anyone got any advice for what to do now this guy has my IP address?

if you dont have a dynamic IP (this should fix the problem automatically afte reconnecting), either use a VPN or ask your provider for a new ip.

Happened to me today too...

Never had any disconnects so far but today got disconnected from 1st hand in a 100$ hyper and was offline for 10 minutes and backup didnt work either.

after that I looked up the tourney ID and found it was the player JizzTrigger and after that I looked him up at optimizer.

Looks interesting atleast....

Also all games what he won. If everyone regognize his SN, then let know, how did you lost the match. Was disconnection, or normal play?

Also checked the lobbies, and he played again vs dfghnajakafs, and won the game obv. Unfortunately the game was already completed, to check the game-play.

Spoiler:

Yep there i am on the list and yep i disconnected (something which has happened to me about 3 times in 2 years), reset router, came back, disco'd again, repeat, came back and lost. Even sicker is that i'm 99% this player talked to me during the game after my issues asking whats wrong and why i keep leaving and coming back

No need. You can get IP if you know his SN, but not needed to add as contact.

http://pokerfuse.com/features/specia...attacks-18-04/

Quoting paragraph on this article:
The ubiquitous Skype, the “standard” for instant messaging in the online poker world, has a particular security flaw that exposes your IP address when you are connected. If you know someone’s Skype username and that person is online, their IP address can be revealed using a simple web-based service — you don’t even have to be accepted as a Skype friend.

Same thing happened to me today twice (as you can see from the screenshot someone took, $100 and a $200 game).

Thought it was my issue so called my internet provider and they said there was nothing wrong on their end. I also tried using my back-up connection both times and it didn't work.

I was only re-connected roughly 5-10minutes after the games were over.

I also recall that RIGHT when I disconnected, the last thing I saw was jizztrigger sitting my 200 lobby. I was disconnected from my $100 game before even seeing who my opponent was.

I should also mention that these incidents happened a few hours apart.

if you have a dynamic IP, next time you are disconnected then do this (XP, Vista or 7):
-Start
-type: cmd (under search programs or files), or go to 'Accessories' and open a dos window.
-dos window comes up, type: ipconfig /release
-wait a few seconds, then type: ipconfig /renew
(spaces after ipconfig_)

This will auto reconnect your tcp/ip stack and should release. This takes 5 secs., better than having to restart computer...

VIP-Cashback recently updated their post to the topic with Skype's update and easiest solution described at:

“Skype for Windows Beta 6.5 and Mac 6.4 now offer the option to prevent people not on your contact list from viewing your IP address.
With this beta program, only your contacts will be able to access this information.

I am not sure, but I think nope. DDOS not getting your ISP down, its getting your router/modem down (overloaded). So its not totally IP-related - you need also new router/modem.

But as I said, I am not 100% sure. Maybe some smarter guy can confirm/decline.
