Secondly, I would just like to apologise to Xereles for my actions. He's a really nice guy and I couldn't regret more what i've done. Not only because of the impact that it's had on my reputation and name, but I was given a great opportunity which I royally screwed up. I made a massive mistake, but I would like to point out that other well known people in this forum have made mistakes in their past and have earned respect back/been given a second chance (not that this is what I am asking for). I have terrible BRM and I tilt easily (not so much at the tables, but with the stakes i'm playing). I lost Xereles' $4500 playing MTTs which I shouldn't have been playing and I accept that I owe him this. My lack of contact with him over the past week has been down to me obviously trying to win it back.

I'm not really too fussed about the personal information of mine being posted on here. Xereles has my address and if he really wanted to, he could send somebody round to my house, but i'm skint, so there really would be little point of that. My plan is to pay Xereles back in instalments over time (and I will contact him directly to discuss this with him), but it may take weeks/months/whatever because I just don't have the money to pay him at the present time.

I'd just like to point out that I never actually set out with the intention of scamming Xereles, but I am sure that there are people that can relate to the scenario that people who have problems with gambling lose all of their rationality and make decisions that you wouldn't comprehend under normal circumstances. I would just like to reiterate that I am sorry for my actions and I would like a chance to put things right over time, given the opportunity.
This is a good start. If you make good on your word, and, I think, some reimbursement for Xereles's trouble, you deserve respect at least for facing what you've done. I wish for both of you this resolves well.

Xereles is a nice guy, and it'd suck to have his willingness to offer help/staking result in something like this. gl.

Oh, and fwiw, playing a 1k is fairly clearly a desperate attempt to get unstuck. At least I, and a lot of HU players I know have had those impulses. It's pretty bad, and he's responsible, but it happens.

scam threads always make me sad to read, but pleasantly surprised there is already a response from Brocky itt, an apology and a promise to pay back. That's certainly the way to go, and hopefully it works out well for both parties.

Lol. How about you bring this hand up a few more times? Yes, I was unsure about a decision and how to act on later streets were he to keep barrelling because I was fairly new to these and I came to a forum to ask for advice (wow is that so hard to believe?). You don't know me, I don't know you, we've never spoke and i've never said anything about you, so why do you feel the need to be a complete ****ing moron all the time? I guess people like you are the reason that people are apprehensive about posting on forums (and I know of one very active user on this forum who says he's too embarrassed to post strat threads because of the responses he will get - No I won't name names).

I really don't care what some random keyboard warrior thinks of me, but i've replied to this thread honestly and I will continue to speak to Xereles over skype. I vowed to do my bit and you just come on here and start giving it large for no reason? Just get over yourself, who are you anyway? Just some ****ing nobody like the majority of us in here.

^^ Yeah, totally agree. Joe, for once, stop being a ****in *******. Let the guy recover. He's already apologized and promised to pay debt back, which takes a ton of guts IMO. What do u gain by doing this?

This brings up another point. The people on 2 plus 2 are the most self-righteous holier than though, pretentious, arrogant, know it alls Ive seen in my life. You people must be impossible to be around in real life. Even response I have gotten has been this "talked down to" or sarcastic bs. You may be good at poker but you suck at life.

Joe wont have a rational or reasonable answer... like his thoughts on social or political discussion.

lol I mean, Brocky I appreciate your willingness to make things right, don't get me wrong...

... but Joe was pretty funny. =P

To be honest, you're getting a surprisingly positive treatment here, much of it due to your timely confession and promise to make things right, so it's partly your doing, but you have to realize that you're still in the wrong here and be ready to receive some pretty harsh comments. If you want to prove them wrong, do it through action and not arguing about how human and understandable your mistakes were (not saying they aren't) or how you're going to make things right (I do believe you plan on doing so) because ultimately those are just words.

It's probably best for you to say little until you've done your part and have more than words to show for your repentance.

I agree it can feel harsh, as I assume Brocky's emotional state must be quite bad for him to have reached this point in the first place, but people didn't feel bad for me when I was receiving death threats and having close to a nervous breakdown. They aren't obliged to feel sorry for someone who's in the wrong. I mean, I don't agree with that sentiment, and I am pleasantly surprised that people here are willing to not completely pile on brocky, but that's really how it works very often on 2+2. I don't think people in this thread have been harsh at all. Joe poked fun at Brocky, and others have said that he's a bit douchy on forums or a bad player, yeah, sure, but people say these things even when scams are NOT involved, so what do you expect when he did in fact scam someone? Furthermore, nobody even came close to saying anything really cruel or hostile like "Brocky's full of ****, he's just buying time" or "lololol he's clearly a psychopath" etcetcetc.

Nobody's kneeling down in front of a shrine and chanting out Brocky's name in glory for that. People are, however, trying to give him a chance to redeem himself, as posting on this thread + apologizing + (ostensibly) planning to get things sorted out requires a great deal of character.

Obviously this situation is nobody's fault but his, and he has some serious BRM/tilt issues to iron out, but the fact that he's doing all this means he deserves more than some "self-righteous holier than though, pretentious, arrogant, know it alls" (+1) berating him, not least over a naive strategy thread posted 6 months ago.
