A bit about me... I've been playing some micro hypers HUSNG. I'm finishing my first week. Played 1323 hands. I love this format. I went from 6 max cash to 6 max hypers sng now to heads up sngs. I find the format very much like chess and I love having to focus on just one person. Lots of messing with people with weird lines especially on rematches. I love it. This is the first time I feel really zoned in and focused.

So do I have a question? Yes, i do! A few actually...

1. How important is knowing GTO in HUSNG? From $7 and lower. I always play the player. I'm very aggressive and adjust when villain tells me too. I don't know the math at all... I mean I know why a play is good (sometimes) but I couldn't tell you the math behind it. Is this really bad? Would knowing the numbers make me a bigger winner? For example, I know if I've got a flush draw and if the dude bets small (compared to the pot), I'm calling or raising depending if I think he's going to fold or not (info from previous hands). Again, I don't know the numbers. I believe this play is good because it makes sense. Not because there's math telling me. Am I being a dildo?

2. I read a lot about table selection. WTF... They must be talking about higher stakes because the micros fill up quick. Am I doing it wrong? Is there something in the lobby I should have switched on? I play on stars. Same with player selection. I rarely play the same person unless we rematch. That's the only way I know how to player select. He good? no rematch. He fish? sure rematch.

3. I currently play on stars. There's no rakeback obviously. I don't play high enough to get any of the special treats from the vip status thingamabob. Should I look elsewhere to play to get some rakeback and then once I'm rolled for bigger games, come back to stars?

That's it for now... If you made it this far, thanks for reading!

for under 7usd, you dont have to be concerned about selection or GTO. there is some rakeback , even if u are small stakes player, but quite small.

On stars? I see myself maybe getting to siverstar status but I don't think there's any rakeback with that...

Welcome to HUSNG! It's a great format

For now, I wouldn't stress too much over GTO. Should you know some basic math? Yes of course.

I would focus more on thought process and hand reading - making sure you're able to have a solid foundation to the game, understand opponent tendencies, and understand the correct lines to take in certain situations. I'd be glad to help if you have any questions - good luck!

Thanks! I have the most trouble with hand reading. Especially in hypers since it's so fast... And especially in micros where you don't get to play the same person twice very often.

this might be a dumb question but in hypers, am I suppose to feel good getting it in flipping? AK vs TT? Even at the start of the match? In regular or turbo, we're deeper so there's room to fold or call a reraise.

Yes. You shpuld always feel good about getting it in with AK if you get it in in a way that makes sense. It shouldnt matter if you get called by TT and are only flipping. It shouldnt matter if you get called crushed by AA either as long as you made a profitable move against all villains hands as a whole (villains range of hands)

In fact there will be spots where jamming 74s is better than folding, and if thats the case you shouldnt feel bad for the toäimes you get called by a monster.

Try playing around with icmizer or coffeecalcs

Great read! Thank you! Do you have a good read on putting villains on hand ranges? I find that to be the most difficult elusive beautiful complicated thing to do. Especially in hypers. Can that be taught? Seems like magic to me!

Yes I've played with icmizer. Not coffeecalcs yet!

Of course it can be taught - it's just a matter of learning the critical thinking skills and having a systematic approach to decision making.

the best thing for learning how to hand read IMO is watching videos and absorbing peoples thought processes behind hands i would watch a ton of videos from different instructors just to get a different insight alot will be standard/similar to each other but this is what i think helps.

Also keep asking yourself questions while u play what is he doing why is he doing this etc

what is he gonna do/anticipate what hes gonna do on X Y Turn street and so on.
Things like this is what triggers AHA MOMENTS so to speak but dont be too disheartened if it takes a while for you hand read it takes alot of experience.

I actually tried to pronounce the word "toäimes", and was like ???????. I genuinely thought it was some French-influenced word that I didn't know.

Solid advice though =)

Yes I need more experience. Hand reading is definitely a HUGE weakness of mine.

Is there a thread somewhere on HUSNG where you can issue challenges for heads up? I'd love to be able to play someone for like 100 hands and then discuss it. I think it would be greatly beneficial. Micro stakes though but real money or else there would be no motivation.

PM me when u can; I'll play with u and discuss hands post-match if u like. I'm a relatively competent micro fish.

Probably be hard to set up on stars - lobbies fill too quick. Should be doable on FTP tho.

I can't PM yet. I'm a stranger around these parts. I think my account here on 2+2 needs to be older than a certain amount of days... You can find me on aim strandedhuman. Let me know if that works for you...

I don't have my account setup on full tilt yet. I can only wage play money on that site...

Pretty sure u can transfer funds from pokerstars to full tilt, once u set up an acc. That's how i got started on PS (shipped funds from FT acc).

You have to have a certain number of posts on here to PM. Not many tho. Or post here if u can move money to FT and I'll look into getting an aim acc.

I just moved from NY to Prague. Full tilt still has my old address that says i live in the US. I only updated my PS account. I already spoke with full tilt and they said I will need to resend all documents again. It took PS 2 weeks to get it done since they're mostly in czech and they needed to get them translated. Full tilt won't work for me right now. It's only PS for me...

"Although both PokerStars and Full Tilt are owned by the same company, we operate independently, and each of both sites have their own procedures.

We kindly ask you to send the documents requested in order to change your registered country on your account.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Bugger. I only recommed FT coz, unlike stars, the lobbies fill slow. Can still do on stars; just may take a while til we're snappy with the synch reg. Can rematch once we're in, so shouldn't be a problem. I'll hit you up on aim today.
