I wont answer on how you get in, but I can say it has nothing to do with who you are friends with or if you are staked by someone in cartel(at least 100s cartel) has democracy and no one can just add someone, every player has to be voted in.

As you can see the cartels aren't just used to clear the stakes, you can also use the people in the cartel to sit people u dont like at stakes that dont have anything to do w the stake cartel was formed for.
Remember to never ask people for more tables if they have a higher roi then you bcs you will get sat by thier friends bcs apparantelly they cant beat you alone even if they have a higher roi?!?

Hopefully this is a bit of a joke. There should never be a cap or closed registration on a group at any level. If someone is good enough they should get in, if someone is bad enough they should be kicked out.

Also there should not be adding of people just to reach a certain number. Nobody knows how many good regs and bad regs or overall regs there really are, so having some specific # is flawed from the start.

These two things are just my own opinion of course, curious if anyone has a counter point to them.

There is a natural counter to a group getting out of hand and not letting in good players (but letting in friends who are bad).

If a group of even 5 or 10 good players is not let in, and there are 10+ players far worse than them already in the group, those 5 players can just join up and sit the life out of the 10+ weak members. The 10 weak members have to move down (making it more likely the group lets these 5-10 good guys in), or the 5-10 good guys just do well and make money or the larger group says "hey, these guys are pretty good, lets let some/all of them in." If I was part of that group of good players I'd make it all or nothing though. Of course, good is subjective, but so is everybody's personal opinion of who is bad, decent, good and great.

So in short, it's not like a group with a lot of bad players can just keep a group of good players from making money (if the good players team up and fight back).

You say everyone has to be voted in. That is only somewhat accurate: Everyone new now has to be voted in. There are almost 90 guys in the $100 cartel? 75~ of them were let in before there was voting.

The $60s cartel is just starting and doing the same thing. They are starting with 100 people. They let in 70-75 without a vote and then the leaders are voting on the remaining 25-30.

Being friends with someone may not have everything to do with it, but it certainly has a lot more than nothing to do with it.

There is a player who is currently up for a vote to get into the $100s. He is currently 28-15 (65% yes) and as a player needs 75% yes vote to get in, he would need to go 17-0 to get to 45-15 and get 75% yes. Aka, he has virtually 0% chance at this point.

He has over 2,000 games against the cartel and pre-rb he has a +0.25%~ ev roi against them. That puts them at -4.02% ev roi against him.

Are you really implying that the fact that he isn't better friends with more of the leaders and outspoken guys of the group has nothing to do with it? There are quite a few of the 75 players who got in without a vote that would not put up those numbers.

The cartel is great in theory and looks great on paper. At the $100s level there is a ton of politics involved and someone pretending otherwise is either trying to cover for a friend or being naive. Even with how it is being handled currently it is still probably good for the game and for most regs. It's just unfortunate the politics hold it back from being as good as it could otherwise be.

Sure, at starting point obv founders will bring in people they know/friends, you have to start somewhere, mby some of them not really good players and got in at the begining because they know right people and its not fair to some people, but most of them anyway fought their way in, but now when there are so many people even being friends with many people wont really get you in, it can be important factor if results are very close but in case above results arent that close than being friends with many would have secured place in.
But tbh in this case I have no idea why people voted no.

Also reg who is most likely better than player you mentioned, has played higher, is playing 100s longer than me and has some friends in, didnt get voted in, at this point you just cant have enough friends to ensure positive outcome of the voting.

Also cartel is working on making it more fair, finding and kicking out people who do not deserve place in but that is not easy thing to do.

HU Stake: you definitely have a point. while i agree with cartels given how the sharky lines have developed and basically no one sat other regs, some of the things how it works are definitely a bit wrong and could use some remodelling. 75% for example is i think too high of a number, given the edge in hypers and overly big egos that hu players have, good example is that kidpokerslo chat. You probably sit multiple tables of one guy to fight it off and lots of regs just get mad and decides he is never letting you at 100s and thats it. Also with the new 60s cartel, ppl are getting infos who is voted in etc, but no one actually participate in this vote. So naturally few "leaders" come up with names and vote it between themselves. I think they definitely vote ppl who they know from a lobby and has been there for a while, but I bet skype contacts etc also get to play its part, because i can name quite a lot of names who are no different to others, yet there are not on the list.

also that's kinda crazy that he didnt get in when he is beating them from their perspective at 4%!
Isn't that kinda +ev for the cartel to let him when they are losing so much money to him? (even if he is barely making any money...it doesnt get better than this in hypers imo)
