Living of Poker HUSNGs HT

Hello Guys well these days im having some discussions with my mom about my future...she always tells me "Work"...she is not the example of work imo so its ok..Well my future plan like 3 months in june or july I will start playing with a 3.000$ Bankroll on Pokerstars full time in HUSNGs 30s and 60s im really young and i live with my mom atm so she has some point to decide what she will like me to do, but i have the final word.

HUSNGs Hyper Turbo 30s and 60s with 3.000$ Bankroll
6-8hs of Game daily from Monday to Friday
Studying some sundays poker.

I have some good material where im studying the game a lot

Mersseanary e-Book
Chadders0 Hyper Turbo Pack
HUSNG.com Membership
The mental game of Poker (Jared Tendler)

Well this is not a Challenge thread because im planning this for a mid term now i play Live poker and got this bankroll for depositing on Pokerstars.

My questions are:

Can I get a living from this?
Can I get a Salary from this modality and stakes?
Should I do this really if I love the game? Or get a normal job?
I only have Secondary School, nothing else.

Somebody Playing could tell me their experience in professional poker.

When I start i will make a Poker Challenge in the forum

Thanks guys

I like it. With part-time job I think you can still play like 2k games a month pretty easily if you're determined.

Also where are you from? In different countries there are different standards. In other words how much do you need to make a living?

Re: Living of Poker HUSNGs HT

So you've never played online poker and you're thinking about jumping into 30-60 hypers for a living? This seems like a terrible idea. I'm not an expert on hyper turbos, but if you're gonna be playing for a living, $3000 is probably not enough for the $60's.

Also, you will experience soul crushing variance at hypers that live play doesn't even come close to matching.

Also, you're not ready for 50 hour weeks at hypers until you actually learn how to play them.

Also, your hourly will be **** at such low stakes, to make a living i imagine you would have to play much higher and crush.

Good luck though.

this pretty much.

Though I disagree with low hourly. If he only needs 700$/month if he's beating 30s then that's easily attainable. I think 1 BI/hr is attainable for sure, but even .5 BI/hr is $15/hr is equivalent to a really amazing job for someone with only secondary school and no work experience. Notice that single tabling with 2% ROI at 30s at 25 g/hr is $15/hr. Def doable.

Only thing is that you'd need to put in a sick amount of study and practice first, get husng.com sub, chadd vid pack, and a coach and put in a ton of work. Like invest 1K in coaching and vids + like 50hrs practicing (at micros to save $) and studying at the very least. Preferably 100+ hours. HU hypers are very tough to learn on your own, especially with only live poker experience. If you jumped into 30s right now you'd probably be like -3 or -4% ROI post rake at the very best--more likely you'd need to play 1 or 2k games to get to that ROI.

Tealize that you want to do something professionally in which you have absolutely no experience. It's about the same as wanting to play chess professionally despite only playing chess with a couple buddies. Your live experience will give you no help--if anything it will probably give you many bad habits and a poor mindset.

me too

Definitely study hard tho. And start putting in volume at 1.5s or something to get comfortable with the format.

Working with a coach and getting some hhs reviewed, leak finder vids, theory chats, other such stuff can also help a ton.

Sounds like if you fail life isn't over, but definitely have some backup plan--I'm sure your poor mother will appreciate that.

Re: Living of Poker HUSNGs HT

Lot of good points itt. Going from live to 30's-60's is very optimistic. Unless you are a very quick learner both mentally and emotionally, it's going to be very hard. I think you should spend at least some time at the micros, not just to learn, but also to make some plays that you might be scared to do at 30's-60's. And $3K at 60's for STs is too small imo, unless you are willing to drop down if things don't go right. I'm not convinced you've thought this through too well tbh.

Personally, I didn't need the $$$ so I started at micros and worked up, beating each stake convincingly before moving up, thus allowing myself to make mistakes and not costing too much. Experience also comes with playing lots of games, and to jump into the sea without experience...well...that's asking for trouble.

Edit: speaking of mothers, I had no interest in playing poker online (I played live only and just for fun basically), and it was my mom who encouraged me to try online poker. I said 'nah' at first, then a few months later she again said I should play online poker, that I would be really good at it, and so I tried it, and well, here I am. I am not reliant on poker for income tho (I am a consultant) but you will be, big difference, but your mom is not resisting you and you have the final word. Still, having a backup plan or part-time job would really be helpful...

Re: Living of Poker HUSNGs HT

Have you ever made a stress test, like playing 6-8 hours in online poker?
It's completely different to live poker, cause you have to concentrate more and in HUSNGs you are involved in every hand. My suggestions is like mentioned above, get a part time job and play poker afterwards.
