Interesting spot vs Paulgees in $360 4man - I get 38bet preflop

Full Tilt Poker $360 + $18 Heads Up Shootout No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t15/t30 Blinds - 2 players

Hero (BB): t1500 M = 33.33

Turn: (t3000) 4 (2 players - 2 are all in)

River: (t3000) T (2 players - 2 are all in)

edit: he shows 72o

Flop is obv std, but im curious what you guys think of pre. Obv the 3bet, 5bet, 7bet, and 9bet are for pure value.

It gets pretty interesting once he 10bets. His range at that point is almost entirely hands that I crush, as almost no one 10bets as anything but a bluff these days. I could obv flat and let his dominated hands stay in, but I thought I could get a bit more with another series of reraises.

After my 21bet, i'm a little worried he has a hand like 4h5h and consider shoving to fold out his equity, but I decide to continue extracting value from all his 73, 23, 92 hands that I want to stay in the pot. I stay with my read until we get to the 42bet, at which point i decide to throw him off with my sizing.

My normal 43bet sizing is 1350, but here i decide to go a little bigger since my hand is so good and it's unlikely he knows too much about my 43bet range as this is our first match in a while. Once he 48bets i decide to flat and see a flop, which from taht point on i think explains itself.

Any input appreciated.

ck fold flop imo...and im also not a big fan of the 27bet, at that point id consider just shipping it for implied value

jam pre over his 48 bet id say. Like hes probably folding some better hands but calling with a lot of worse/dominated hands that we want to get value out of. I think our equity is going to be a little bit better just getting it in pre than seeing like a 257 flop or something that reall smacks his range and we may have to c/f. So probs get it in pre.

I actually think Pre is standard.. I just don't like the sizing on the 43 bet as it is basically screaming 9 high against a competent opp. I think the biggest mistake was post flop as when you shove he only calls with 27, q5 and 37 but youmiss value from Hands like 89 that will bet as a backdoorsemibluffcbet.

Ok. My thoughts: Preflop pretty standard. On the river I think value shoving looks best but if we check it should be to check/fold because I've never seen paulgees bluff in a 10bet (or higher) pot. Sure, he could be turning a made hand like 2x into a bluff, but it's more likely he'd check back and try to get to showdown as soon as possible. As unlikely as it seems (given the preflop action), his single most likely hand would be QQ and I don't have pokerstove but if someone could run the math I don't think we have odds to call vs that hand.

Edit: What do you think about altering your 17bet sizing to show a little respect for the dragon, or would we be overrepping our hand?
