Hypers (30$) question - facing a 3bet

    Poker Stars, $29.37 Buy-in (10/20 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 2 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

    BB: 540 (27 bb)
    Hero (SB): 460 (23 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with XY
Hero raises to 40, BB raises to 100

Start of the match, villain's first 3bet, nothing note worthy at all so far, no reads...

What is you shoving range here, what is your flatting range?

I would just be shoving my calling range for 3bet jams readless (except KQ, KJs). Flatting 98s+ 109o+.

    yeah i'm shoving 22+ A7s+ A8o+ and definitely KQ.

I think KJ is close to a shove. Honestly it's probably best jammed, but I don't have a great idea of how polar a 3b non all in readless is. Flatting it is fine too probably.

I'm flatting wider than you guys for sure though.
Something like: Q8s+,J8s+, suited one gappers 86+, SC 65+, KTo+,Q9o+,J9o+,T8o+,98o.
I will agree that 86s 65s are borderline, def call vs a t90 and a touch wider even. This would be quite a bit tighter vs a t120.

The difference in ev when called between 22-33 and 66 for ex is quite small given that people don't 3bet to this size with hands small pocket pairs.

And vs 3b/call range like A7+,88+,KQ,KJs,QJs A2-A5s do better than A8o,and about the same as A7s.

huh. seems then that jamming any suited ace is fine then? That makes some sense to me.

    Re: Hypers (30$) question - facing a 3bet

I don't know what people at 30s show up in this spot,vs someone who isn't a reg i'd expect this sizing to have his big pairs and random 3bet hands and less big Ax since they usually tend to 3bet to a bigger size with those. So i'm pretty much shipping any suited ace. And vs a reg readless i'm pretty much doing the same.

Interesting stuff is that most regs don't 3bet non all in with a hand like A9o here,so his 3bet call range will look like AT+(even with less AT since he'll still 3bet shove some %),88+,half the KQo combos lets say,KQs,KJs. Vs this range A5s does better than ATo.

    Re: Hypers (30$) question - facing a 3bet

This spot is always gonna suck. Imo population tendencies just make it pretty hard to be unexploitable to 3bets readless and not lose money. If you open >70% and fold A6s to 3bet jam e.g. you are already exploitable.

I've played ppl who 3bet first hand 100% (either non-all in or jam)... and conversely also most regs wouldn't 3bet bluff first hand either. Vs a reg then (if he doesn't know you are also a reg), flatting with anything is probably -EV as they have JJ+ or w/e.

Miniwiz- i would think most regs would be 3bet jamming A8+ readless because of Mers...

Also @coffeeyay- are we gonna play mostly fit/fold with that flatting range postflop? I'm not even sure vs a t100 raise I can call profitably tbh though you probably (or rather obviously) have more experience with this (and more data too).
