Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

well it's openshoves where Genher had a call-worthy hand too, so that's only a small percentage of them we get to see what cards villain had

Thanks dave, I completely missed that obvious fact. Now the data makes a lot more sense to me. :-)

Yea, you're right if we look at the point of calling, from our point of view.

What I wanted to point out is the fact that villain isn't willing to open shove Ax more often than 22-55, and he indeed shoves 22-55 more often, given how many times he's dealt this range of hands.

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

ok This is my attempt at this :

I have kept the data pretty much like the original. Trying to smooth it was driving me nuts.

I have aplied the following weights to the original data:

so the original data got given these weights:

Therefore (thanks to CREV):
calling range vs a RANDOM 25BB deep (with EV)

and 20 BB deep

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

That's pretty close to the range i've been calling so far, except a bit tighter with the Ax

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

I think it was mentioned earlier that these are only hands that villain has shoved and he called, as otherwise villain likely mucks cards.

yes that's right obv when I didn't have a hand I didn't call and the hand is not in the database.
But there is enough logical (kind of) and random stuffs in there that the data should be quite representative. Someone is welcome to have a go at smoothing it, placing the weight in a grid and then I would process it again

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

Wait so if I get this right, that means that you should call an openshove with A6o at 25 bb? holy **** lol I was calling much tighter than that. I guess it doesn't happen that often at 25 bb and readless but still that's really surprising to me.

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

Yeah I was calling A8+, KQs, 44+ but I'm going to loosen that up a bit now.

What stakes is this data from?
