Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

i honestly didn't think this through very well, because this is a theoretical case for me so far. what i wanted to say is that if i see villain calling my openshove with 86o, i will probably find appropriate adjustments, i.e. openshoving hands with mediocre equity from a mr but great equity if villain calls openjams with a range that highly exploits my specific openjamming range of 22-55.

Seriously? Maybe you can think very logical and understand that it was a good call against your openjaming range, but I think majority will just think your a tard and not adjusting.

Exactly the same way most people will think your an idiot when they call your 3b-jam and see that you have 94s. I dont think they start adjusting by calling jams wider. Now Im talking about fishregs. Im not talking about 1k regs.

don't underestimate villains. even bad players - or at least bad regs - realize they can very profitably open shove A8 after seeing you calling a 25BB all in with 87s. Big pots and all ins remain in the memory of the players more deeply than frequent mistakes for smaller pots.

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

yeah, i think you are underestimating the skill of your opponents. of course there are people who just autopilot 4 tables, but most regs at 30+ will at least make basic adjustments.

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

the range that people open shove 20 to 25 bb deep is much wider than you think. Thanks to this : http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/18...y-hem-1212650/

this is the range for a SB (general population) open shove 20-25bb deep ($30 to $60)

(this is only a 5000 players alias I'll try a bigger one later)

in that case, because it's filtered, not much really. you got these H the expected number of times.

from fozzy :
Quote:
That means you were dealt those hole cards the expected number of times based on the total number of hands dealt. There are 169 possible hands on that grid so the expected frequency if you played exactly 169 hands would be that you got dealt each possible hand 1 time
I posted the grid because it was more "visual" OBv we could exctract a more precise freq from HM2

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

that HM2 expected frequency seems suspect, surely it's not just hands/169 I am not at all familiar with HEM2, but I'd expect it is actually doing it hands/1326 to account for pairs, suitedness etc.

ya I wouldn't worry too much about it but basicaly from red (most freq) to blue (less freq). Point is, it's much wider than just 22-55

Re: HYPER :: VILLAIN OPEN-SHOVE RANGE >20BB ?

I would never call with 86 because the call is close if you look at the odds vs 22-55 and there will always be a time then the other player shoves 66 or Ax. Even regs might do this sometimes.

But if you 100% sure he has 22-55 you can call at least 1 time. Would tilt the other player definitely if you win and he will mark you as a big fish.

Especially when they see somone calling an openshove at 20-25bb with 86o.
