Re: HUSNG Official fitness, diet and healthy being thread
bunza, i really agree with that. Like i said, i havent done any cardio a long time, lost weight i feel awesome, but i am starting to put it in my schedule. ATM i am weightlifting hard 3 days a week, 1 day is for cardio and pool and sauna and relaxation in general and offdays i do some HIIT at home.
9 months ago i had 52 lbs more (37%+ Body fat), wasnt doing ANY kind of exercise, felt like **** and was smoking... so i'm guessing it's good ATM.

Oh ya and diets are a waste of time. Eating healthy shouldn't be for a certain period of time, but always. Also, following your daily calories and stuff like that is only relevant if your an olympic athlete. If your doing it right you won't have to.
Yeah, playing sports is so much more fun that being stuck in a sweaty gym. And diets are def. useless. What do you play? I used to played goalie, was pretty good but I developed a problem with my knee after a collision from a forward and my defenseman, and the doctor said I had to stop playing net or risk busting my knee later in life...

You've done really well in 9 mths. I think you took the right approach going primarily with weights and proper diet so far. I know it's hard to now incorporate cardio (it's a mental block really) but if you increase it slowly as you are doing, you should be fine. 1 hr. a week at 80% max. is not much at all...
Re: HUSNG Official fitness, diet and healthy being thread
i lost ~55 pounds by lifting weights + eating healthy (minimal cardio). took my body fat % from 31% down to 17%).
once i got down to 15-17% range, it's been pretty tough to get past that. i added 15 mins cardio (HIIT) to the end of my lifting days (5-6 days a week) and have been getting pretty good results. im ~14% BF atm.
right now my lifting routine is a lot of super-setting, dropsets, rest-pause, etc...trying to keep heart rate up pretty high. rest range is somewhere between 60-90 secs depending on the lift, tho i still take 2 min rests after big lifts (squat, dl, bench). i change up my rep ranges every 4-5 weeks or so.
i def agree with a lot of you that everyone is unique and you have to adjust based on how your body feels/reacts. i think it's just v important to shock your system regularly and not find a routine and just stick to it forever...change rep ranges up, rest intervals, different exercises, etc.

+1 on that. Most of the major muscle groups are used for swimming and therefore it's a great way to train the whole body.
I've been swimming 3-7 times a week for the last 5 years with minimal gym training and I'm in a pretty good shape taking into consideration of how scrawny I am (6'0 138lbs).

I do 2+2 style SS (squat 3 x / week at the least), drink whole milk every day, eat red meat when I can and mostly live on natural peanut butter sandwiches.
Re: HUSNG Official fitness, diet and healthy being thread
Anyone know much about red meat or meat in general or know good articles? I've read a few just on my phone yesterday and they made it sound like you should really avoid it because it cause all types of ****. If true..what exactly is in the meat that is harmful?
I could read up on it more (and I will) but I'm tired and not in the mood and would like to hear opinions from you guys.

hehe good stuff, so sick if you're in you're teens, pick up a routine like that and you literally have to shove down like 6000kcals to gain on it
