Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***
I don't see why they wouldn't start it tonight. AFAIK it only gets updated once per day.

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***
I thought they waited a week or two last year, maybe not though.
Stars and FTP should pay them to start it today, a lot of people on short heaters will see their names on there and be motivated to play more for a week or two. Then skilled or livb will win a few 5ks and it'll all be moot.

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***
happy new year to all...
looks like i missed quite an interesting discussion the past day or so. imo, i think skates' manual would be far more beneficial to us, then bringing the fish floor up, so to speak.
i mean really, i havent played above the 345s yet, but i'd say over 75% of my opponents between 115 and 230s are rando's who aren't even aware what sharkscope is, let alone proper adjustments at 7bb; 10bb; 12-15bb; or 22bb deep. i just don't see anything changing the current dynamic out there short of regulatory policy changes.

i hear you. but don't you automatically assume against the competent opponents you play that they have the same availiability to information as you do? like, if its not the manual, then its strategy article X or Y or video X/Y?

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***
SS had to manually create the leader board filters.
I can't imagine it being too hard if its just a database query to be written, guess that will depend on when the Sharkscope people wake up from the New Year drinks

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***
It's extremely easy to write the leaderboard code, especially since they already have it from last year. They're just changing two digits in the query.
It would also be very easy to have it update on the fly throughout the day, I'm not sure why they don't do that. It would up the server load, but not a whole lot imo.

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***
I'll cede that Nemo has a point.
Primo and Spamzor can have the same point, but it's too contradicting to me (nothing against you guys either).
I think it is very likely that Primo and Spamz have done a lot more to improve all player's games than one article by Skates could do, even if it's focused on a part of the game where many people feel lost.
Between Spamz's posting, HH reviews posted here for free, end game article (that teaches opponents how to play unexploitable vs Spamz at 0-10bb)
and
Primo's private coaching (if Skates concepts won't help you, then you already know them and presumably teach many students this already), videos (even not on my site, you made some really sick good videos, particularly for fish about effective stacks, fundamental play, basically you gave so many bad players a foundation to play the game profitably on a site that charged them just $20 for a sub) and long history of posting winning advice....
I just don't see how Skates article is so much different and more helpful than the stuff you've all given back to the community.
I still stand by my prior statements as a whole, I don't think this article is going to change your bottom line much, if at all and I think it's highly likely it will actually net help you than hurt you because you can learn much more quickly, correctly and efficiently from a fellow good player than fishregs can. But I do acknowledge it has the potential to be a negative to you, I just don't think it's likely to be one, nor that is is likely this article can have a negative impact on you without the other things you have done for the community yourselves for free (or super cheap) having a similarly negative impact.

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***
Ok, suffering major withdrawal so I'm going to open a UB account and play me some more HU SNGs. (backstory: I excluded myself from FTP and Poker Stars for a month) Anyone have rakeback recommendations for UB? I'm a rakeback newb.

You do realize if all the fish regs got a bit better because of this material it could come to the point where I cant play them anymore because while they make mistakes I cannot beat the rake....... then all the lobbies will be filled up while people wait for action from fish, the way it is now is good the weak make some money the strong thrive, dont make this like HU cash please or give people the opportunity to without putting in their own work.

What if the fishregs either don't read it, don't respect the poster enough to take it at face value or don't know how to apply it correctly to their game?
What if the better regs such as yourself do?
Then you'd improve and fish regs would be worse against you.
A lot of you good regulars consider fish regs to be more profitable than some losing players these days anyways.
