thanks bossman, get me on aim u can get it from most regs...feels good to be a new year. i think i ended last year on like a 60k downswing so it feels good to start fresh and already be up over 10k for 2010...gl to all and have a good year.

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***

I don't mean to derail because obv the stuff about HUSNG moving to cash and vice versa is a moot point. It doesn't matter. I was just remarking that being good at HUSNGs isn't just "can you play well short"... it's "can you adjust your ranges as game structure changes". For example, consider a game where your opponent bets full-pot every street 100% of the time and you can only call. As a cash player, if you're 100BB deep or 1000BB deep, your play is the same always because the stacksizes cover the bot's strat. On the other hand, proper play at 75BB is incredibly different from proper play at 10BB.

Is it not ironic that we are here on a forum such as this opposing something that embodies the very nature of discussion forum? The bottom line is it's up to Stakes, and if he were to go ahead it would only help increase his legacy and possible traffic to HUSNG.com

I think the idea is that it only takes those 5% who do apply it properly to make the games worse for Spamz and friends.

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***

I would stand to benefit a lot from this, but I also feel that I'm thinking about the game well and I'll learn on my own eventually anyway.

I'm also wondering if the people who want this to be posted intend to make any attempt to figure it out on their own. I mean, if you expect to profit from this information whether or not it's posted by skates, then wouldn't it make more sense to oppose it? And if you think you'll never find it otherwise, then of course you would love for him to post it.

I do not like this post. You realize that skates simply posting an article somewhere is not discussion, right? It's just an information dump. Discussion takes more than one person, and it tends to be equal exchange for both sides.

That's part of how these players got to where they are in the first place: by discussing the game with each other, each gaining from the other. They did not rise to where they are by having one player figure it all out and spoon-feed the rest of them.

Re: ***HU SNG REGS THREAD***

On the other hand, does anyone think heybude's articles have made a huge, negative effect on HUNL? I mean, I feel like I gained a lot from reading his articles on FlopTurnRiver when I started out, but you never hear anyone talk about them.

Hell, I recently went back to them and gained so much more than I did originally, just by having a better understanding of the game the second time I read them, after spending time trying to figure out the game myself. So I can also see Ry's point that this probably won't hurt much, since you're going to have a lot of people who read it once, "feel [their] winrate improve," and forget it.

if i had to guess, i would say something along the lines of probably it isolated himself from friends, family etc. you have to put in a ton of hours to reach the upper echelon, and sometimes that causes other parts of your life to suffer.
