82 games in one day? In reg speeds? How long did that take you to achieve? wp

On another note, can you explain how you got into limp ball in the first place, and what made you want to stop?

I agree, but you're so damned results oriented!

You didn't make money today because you raised preflop and you didn't previously make money because you limped preflop.

You're good, just focus on adapting and don't worry about small downswings, you'll be up in the high games in no time.

he was then left with 20 chips. Somehow by the powers that be, he won 7 flips in a row(1st 3 I called atc)then had him 60/40 or better on the latter ones. finally, I was left with maybe 300 and ran AJss into Ak to lose the match. Has any1 else experienced this type of loss?

I was on some sick rubber room tilt over a $10 game
for some reason I ran str8 into the bathroom got a shower, brushed my teeth and even cut my nails, all w/o really relizing what I was doing. A small part of me is missing after that game.
A few weeks ago, I got it all in preflop in a 6-man $20 cap PLO game where 3 of the 6 players (not me) were all sitting next to each other and capping every single hand preflop. So I waited for premium hands and got QJTTds. I come along for the $20 ride, and one other does, and so $100 in the pot. One of the guys who was pushing every single hand happened to have AAXX this hand. Flop comes AJT. One of the other guys has the last two jacks for set-over-set-over-set on flop. Turn is the case ten. River is a blank. Another dude has four to the straight flush. That dude turned the flush. Another guy flopped broadway. I hit my one outer and dodge the last ace. No jack can come, I gots it.

So I knew that karma would expect payback someday. Today was that day.

I know this is a holdem forum, and I know that among the omaha players here, this has probably happened to you guys before, but this was a first for me and Ive played a lot of Omaha. This happened today. I get a chunk in preflop with KKXX versus a maniac. Flop comes KJ9 rainbow. If he has QT its his lucky day. I shove, he instacalls, shows JJ. I see no backdoor draws or straight draws or anything. I process this wonderful information and like "yes, set!" and as I am saying this outloud to no one in particular, bam comes the jack. It was only an $11.50 husng but still I yelped like a whupped dog. And of course no river resuck.

This is my once-per-year nonholdem bad beat post in the wrong thread and promise never to do it again in 2009.

And yes I have had that exact kind of loss as well. But my point was both of these events send you to the rubber room. Its not the amount of money, its the principle and the amazing rarity of it that drive me bonkers.

People almost never come back from 20. It takes an amazing set of odds-defying feats to do it. Is it a full moon or something???

That is all.

Sweet, this already helped me with one close decision so far (K5o for 10.5 BB effective).

Thanks, part of me who is too much of a pussy to play when sober but is still far too willing to do strat calculations!

Sounds good sir keep it up.

One word of caution though, which chicagory pointed out, try not to look at your results too closely.

funny that you dont consider winning $400 a decent day. And whats really gross is that your being honest... damn you guys are ballers on here. I feel honored for having the luxury of posting in the same thread.

N1 steve, how do i use the table?

Say i have K5s, the table says:

K5s 349 876 0.371933 32.303331

What does this mean?

It really isn't about the money or the results at the end of a single day. You can play your ass off and at best break even. You can play like utter **** and show a +5 buy-in profit on the day.

I think its just a necessary evolution as a player. If you don't try to avoid looking at each day as its own result, then you can fall into many traps such as questioning your play when you shouldn't, or even worse not questioning a decision when you should.

You put "K5s" in the box next to the "HAND" box.
Then you put the shorter (effective) stack in the "EFFECTIVE STACK" box.
Then you put the BB in the "BIG BLIND" box.

that's it, the Oracle of Unexploitability (TM) will bestow a VERY LARGE ALLCAPS "YES" or "NO" based on its all-knowing power (a.k.a., a vlookup function I learned during my actuarial internship in '08).

that other number is the cutoff number, but it's in small blinds, not big blinds.

EDIT: Let me upload it with better instructions, brb

EDIT2: The line of the table is, in order:

Hand -- Number of the 1,225 other possible starting hands that call -- number that fold -- your equity if you are called -- max number of SBs effective for where a shove is unexploitable if you turn your hand face up and villain calls only if he has 50+% equity

I'm pretty sure that the 32.303331 is the amount of dollars you can open shove face up in a $1/2 game. In other words, 16BB and change.

Ty Sir. You have just enlightened me to a new outlook on daily win/loss. That will keep me grounded where I need to be during future downswings.
