Villian was a thinking player. First time playing him this was a couple hands into the match. I want to know what some people think about how I played this hand and what I should do on the river. After a few responses I'll post more about my thought process.

I would call here, even if you feel he should see your hand for what it is, enough worse stuff shoves to make this call plenty good I believe.

I don't see anything wrong with the way you played the hand (I think the Q is very important for this line). Another plausible way might be putting a lot more aggression in on early streets if you believe enough players bluff/rebluff/float around to make that worthwhile. Given that it's a winning player I would imagine that's a distinct possibility.

i like a flop lead or c/r. not too big a fan of the c/c.

as played on turn, i'm flatting a lot, but a c/r could be possible in certain situations depending on how the opponent views you.

like the river lead. and yikesssss. i think a fold is correct, but in game i prob time down/call. again, i think how he views you is important. i just really doubt he's now shoving with Jh7h type hands. K5hh makes a lot of sense. but hey, maybe he's shoving with Kh5x too :P

I should add that the opponent views me as a thinking player/ST reg.

Some more information would be useful. Was he limping a lot? Was he betting trips big or small on the flop/turn or was he slowplaying it often and checking behind? He's gonna need either K high flush or AT, T5, T3, 33, 55, or TT to beat you. Which of these hands is possible? I think the c/c line is not good in general with your hand on that board. I like jayluf's idea to either lead or c/r flop. And what might he be bluffing? His line is very strong given that you c/c'd twice on a 2 flush flop and then lead the river when the flush hit. Would he bet half pot with flush draw on flop and turn and overvalue a low flush on the river? He is rarely bluffing here so his range is mostly value hands and possibly a spaz bluff.

I tend to ramble on. I hope something in there is useful lol.

I gave all the info I had. We had only played a couple hands before this and nothing especially significant happened in any of them.

For those who say you don't like check/calling flop, can you elaborate?

I check/called the flop because I know that this guy is decent and if I lead it puts me in a tough spot if he raises because I don't know if he is repping a 10 or actually has a hand. Also with c/c I can still rep a 10 if I brick the flush to fold out his k-x or random pairs that he hits if he was bluffing the flop.

You played the hand fine. River is an insta-call, what's so difficult about this?

Yeah, what is the reason to fold here?

your line makes little sense on the river and i'm sure he'll value shove some aces or turn some hands into a bluff, nice hand
