Hi everyone!

It's my pleasure to launch the thread for the Coaching Tree 2.0.

I would say that overall the experiment was a success, with many of the participants getting a lot out of the experience. We had a few problems though with people procrastinating and/or dropping out without notice, some time zone issues, some personality conflicts, but hopefully the new protocol will help us avoid difficult situations this time around.

The basic idea is the same, every participant gives out 1 hour of coaching to 2 players playing lower stakes, and receives 1 hour of coaching by a regular playing stakes higher than his (hers?).

The tree would look like :

ITRIED2WARNU (our very own, forum champion, HUSNG.com instructor, king of (N)SFW)
(2 regs 100$-220$)
(4 regs 55$-110$)
(8 regs 22$-33$)
(16 players in the micro stakes)


A few tweaks in the new version :

Participants should have the desire to complete the assigned sessions within 2 weeks. This arbitrary number is necessary to avoid procrastination.

Participants should be generally reachable (within 48h is an idea of what consider reachable), and should immediately report any kind of problem to me so I may look for solutions.

Once I compile all the applications and create the tree, I will have it approved by all interested parties before making it official, and you will be given the chance to back out if you don't like the setup.

Once the tree is out, it is down to the participants to get in touch with their partners and get things going. If anyone goes missing, please tell me quickly.

The actual coaching session can take various forms, but the tree will be setup in such a way as to encourage group sessions : 2 students with the same coach will have similar skill levels/sites/formats and can therefore do a 2 hour session together with their coach (for example a live HH review on skype) instead of just one individually. More time, more discussion, more poker connections = profit!

ITRIED2WARNU will be doing a 1h30 group session with the two players at the top. I would like to take the opportunity to thank him for accepting to do this, it's really cool of him to be generous with his time; he also took part in the last tree and his students were very happy with their sessions, so we're lucky to have him!

Of course, all the info you send me is strictly confidential, I won't be sharing your SNs or anything nasty like that.

I definitely think you've improved a lot on these forums since our little challenge. However, I won't be including you in this tree for 2 reasons :

1. Your behavior with teamsk last round was simply terrible, I don't want to risk anything like that happening again, and I can't justify you taking the place of someone who doesn't have that kind of history.
2. You have a good poker brain, but theoretically you are not a reg in the 20s/30s.
