$6 Turbo vs. very passive

10th hand. Villain is limping his entire range and calling 100% of my 2x's OOP. Seems to be floating a bit (folding 50%, calling 25%, raising 25%, lol sample).

Merge - $5.75+$0.25|<> NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 1,460.00
Hero (BB): 1,540.00

SB posts SB 10.00, Hero posts BB 20.00

Pre Flop: (pot: 30.00) Hero has 4 T

SB calls 10.00, Hero checks

Flop: (40.00, 2 players) 4 Q 7
Hero checks, SB bets 20.00, Hero raises to 80.00, fold

My thinking on the flop is that I've got reads that villain bets small when weak and has a fold button when raised and the board is awful dry, unlikely to have connected. I would rather take down the pot here than see inevitable overcards and be calling.

After the play my thinking was that I'm turning equity into a bluff here and it's more +EV to continue than to take the easy route.

Thoughts?

I don't like the ch/r here.I go for the ch/c,and depends on the betsize(if he bets) ott.
The reason i don't like it,is because he limps all his range, which means he can easily have 7x,qx,better 4s and a bigger pp.
Plus you re oop,and when called, most turns wont improve your hand, and you ll mess up with the guessing games.

Re: $6 Turbo vs. very passive

Whether this is the best play or not depends on how often the villian is cbetting and how often he's 2 barrelling. Given that you don't seem to have any info in this I prefer calling and folding to a second barrel. If he cbets a lot and double barrels a lot when you flat I like c/raising as your hands not strong enough to call two streets but you probably have decent fold equity and have 5 outs to a nut hand on a dry board.

When he calls, and turn is not a T/4, you check and when/if he bets, you fold. Guessing game is hard?

yeah but there's a pretty good chance we don't have much fold equity either. I might barrel a king or ace but I don't think it's gonna be +ev to barrel as wide as you suggest.

Re: $6 Turbo vs. very passive

ur 4T doesnt really have much equity anyways... ur at a positional disadvantage...
i dont hate the CR, since our hand is too strong to C/fold to the c-bet, and too weak to C/call, and be guessing on turn...
so i would sometimes turn my 4T into a semibluffing hand, for the sole purpose of forcing a fold from villain...
if u do take this line, be willing to barrel on Q/K/A type turn cards, since it improves ur perceived hand strength...

I just c/c here.

As villain calls 100% OOP I prefer a 3x instead of a 2x open at these effective stacks sizes.
