30$ HT river bet sizing?

We dont have reads.

Hero (SB): 460.00
BB: 540.00

Hero posts SB 10.00, BB posts BB 20.00

Pre Flop: (pot: 30.00) Hero has J J

Hero raises to 40.00, BB calls 20.00

Flop: (80.00, 2 players) 5 Q T
BB checks, Hero bets 40.00, BB calls 40.00

Turn: (160.00, 2 players) 7
BB checks, Hero bets 80.00, BB calls 80.00

River: (320.00, 2 players) 7
BB checks, Hero bets 300.00 and is all-in

What about river bet sizing? I think he does not have Q here as most villains will x/r it otf, but I am worried about flushes because they are capable c/c flushdraws so mby bet smaller/fold could be better but I also think he has T here very offten which could call jam.

I don't really think a T will call a jam here much. Your line looks like Qx+ and bad players will see flush and trips possibilities and not understand you have almost no 7x in ur range and fold Tx imo.

Id either check back or bet 120 on river. Prob 120 readless

Bet smaller like 120-160, you have two blockers to most of his straight draws so he has less of them and he won't call a psb jam with Tx.

Re: 30$ HT river bet sizing?

When deciding what sizing we want to vbet we should consider the range of hands we are hoping will call us.

In this spot, the range of hands that we want to call us is fairly small, and so our vbet is quite thin--we want to be looked up by some 5x (probably A5 K5 type hands), obviously Tx, and mayybe Ax. As it is, a jam is going to be hard pressed to get value out of Tx even, and certainly will not get called by Ax or 5x barring extreme dynamics or a crazy stationy fish.

I think we should be sizing it so that we accomplish two things--our bet looks a bit bluffy but it is fairly cheap to look up.

I think a bet of t99 accomplishes this best. betting t99 rather than t100 will subconsciously look cheaper--it has been an accepted fact in marketing technique that pricing something $.99 rather than $1.00 is optimal. At the same time, consciously many people realize that .99=1, so in fact if anything this sizing will look more bluffy because it looks like we're trying to intimidate him with more chips in the pot (because of the graphic that shows all the t1 chips) or confuse him with a weird sizing. So i think that t99 will accomplish best what we want--it will look bluffy, but subconsciously it will look like a cheap bluff to look up. So we hopefully get looked up very light in this spot because of it.

Otherwise we're stuck just value towning ourselves by Qx--as played, it is arguable what you are even intending, are you betting for value or to bluff off Qx? I would say that we have enough showdown that turning our hand into a bluff here is stupid because it is very unlikely a Q will call us. But if we're close to bluffing off a Q then villain will certainly have a tough time calling a jam with a T or 5, so at that point checking back may be better. I'd even go so far to say that checking back is better than jamming. But vbetting small (and I like t99 here a good bit) will be better than both imo.

I'd like a shove if fd missed, tough for him to herocall you otherwise. I'd bet like 120 or slightly bigger.

Agree with the idea except this: "t99 rather than t100 will subconsciously look cheaper" and this: "looks like we're trying to intimidate him with more chips in the pot (because of the graphic that shows all the t1 chips)" does not compute imho. Thing is you will intimidate more than you probably want, not just looking like you're trying to cause of the graphic thing that wasn't a problem on the "marketing facts" you mentioned.

So because of that my recommendation would bee 95 and if you want to keep this: "this sizing will look more bluffy" bet something like 96 or 97, and you still win another 1 or 2 chips in the process.

I dont like a shove on river, I like a shove on river if we completely miss, his hand looks like a weak 5x or Tx at best and so we want to get as much value. Id bet 120 into 320 knowing im ahead but very likely to fold to river c/r.

Aren't you worried about getting jammed on when you bet the flop?
