Hi, this has happened a couple of times last days, so villain starts raising and re-raising pretty much any 2 cards. While blinds are low I call small raises pre and play pretty much fit/fold, hoping to hit something decent and take a big pot or all his chips, with an occasional bluff on good boards. The problem is when blinds get medium/high and he continues to raise and I get card dead.

Should I just lower my gii requirements and shove any decent hand making it a flip or so? (That's what I've been doing fwiw)

Thanks.

Your question is something like 'should I adjust to an extreme aggression'? Answer is - YES. What do you mean by medium/high blinds?

Shouldn't adjust your strategy based on being card dead. You need to work on dealing with this, I get the impression you got some mental game leaks. A guy as aggro as you described is really easy to beat, the fact you are card dead doesn't make taking flips a good strategy/ Strategy wise I would start limping a wide balanced range from the sb when blinds get big and increase my 3 bet shoving with a polar range over his raises. Attack every time he shows any passiveness until he adapts and simply get paid when you make your hands.

the question is how.

say around 1500 effective stacks with around 50/100 blinds

of course thats kinda of what i do, by taking flips i mean like eventually we will get it in with weak hands against his hands etc, so unless we hit a high pocket pair or the board strong we will always go all in with 60-40 at the best either way.

the thing is sometimes i take my chances bluffing and guess what... he reraises and i have to fold my crap.

im not talking about the aggro villain who will fold to a reraise on the flop or a 2nd barrel, im talking about the guy that can only see the raise button on his table.

Wait for a toppair and balance your ranges to top 15%

If you only feel good when you get it in with 80% + at 15bb then that's your problem. Edges are very small here and a 60% fav is far from flipping.

yeah, that was my question, if vs decent villains it all ends up to small edges

Def. think a big part of it is realising anything >55% is okay and 60% is good

Just start shoving over him with your top 65% of hands

What about waiting till you can be confident you are ahead (e.g. good top pair) and then just passive calling him? Let him dig his own grave.

Works for me at the nanos. Can't speak for any higher stakes though.

yeah, another mistake i sometimes make is that i start playing at his own speed, sya call, call call waiting for my decent hand to hold. anyways yeah, realizing i have to fight it back and get it in with anything decent while ahead will solve the problem. thanks guys

i'll tight my preflop range and start raising 3x, 2.5x. if he 3bet a lot i'll widen my 4betting range and widen my 3betting flatting range and also you must increase your 4 bet bluffing range.

Don't be afraid of taking risks. The variance will be high. You must be strong mentally. if you lose and he doesnt rematch you... don't think that you lost money to a fish and you lost. instead of this, ask yourself if you made the right adjustement and if you played good.
