Like turbos vs hypers, you don't really need to commit fully to one.
Yes, 3 handed you'll have a lot to learn, but the heads up portion of spins will be dual learning if you're studying hypers.
Same with the end game of turbos vs hypers.
Right now it seems plenty are making good money in both. There are opinions every few posts in that huge thread about how long it will last for (weeks, months, years). Nobody really knows. Many of the actual regs in turbos complained about hypers when they came out, saying they'd die off within a year and/or were too high variance and/or a lot of luck. Those guys now have to wipe the egg from their faces daily in order to see their computer monitors and grind
No telling if naysayers will be correct this time, just pointing out that there's often heavy resistance to change in the poker world (even within a single game format, I think human nature is to try to "freeze" the state of things once you've reached a successful point).
