hand 3 is a flat call u have massive implied odds given he seems like a spewtard if you hit.

hand 6 dont bet when its checked to you, ask yourself why is he not cbetting a flop that he would 100% bet if he had air, instead just check to try and hit your gutshot, plus if he has air your hand is good anyway so no point in betting.

hand 13:

Why are you 3bet bluffing a maniac, against these types of people you are not going to win in the bluffing war as they obv just dont care about what hand they have, never 3bet bluff these guys, just be more patient keep doing as you were doing, the more experienced you get in husngs' the more you will realise you dont need to be worried about getting run over against these types of opponents as when you finally make a hand or hit they will give you all your chips back and more,

the worst thing you can do is trying to fight fire with fire, these guys want to gamble and when you make impatient bluffs you are playing right into there hands its what they want.

just wait and value/trap them, you were playing fine just folding.

the game is all about hand 13 , you tilted and reraised preflop or you just decided to make a move ? You just were card dead against an aggro villain.

That last hand is funny , ussualy these aggro guys do not raise to t80/t100 all hands and all of a suddent raise to t60 , unless they have some big hand and they want you to call.

fold preflop to his 3 bet or reraise all in (if you had a good hand).

flop play is bad even with those reads imo , I would check raise all in. If you check the guy will try to bluff with ATC and then you shove so he thinks you have a big pocket pair and thus you maximize your fold equity.

so , the 3 things I believe you can improve in this hand is:
- do not play a 3bet pot with Q7 especially against a guy that will bet every flop
- on that flop check raise (so you will keep all his ATC in) , but when you donk bet and villain reraises all in you are beat imo (he has something more often than not)
- villain raises to t100 almost every time , not he raises small , get a read on what that means

Okay thanks guys.

Just one more thing, I'm guessing the optimal/easiest strategy against these type of players is to fold until i hit and then passively play the hand, but what type of range should I be playing with (both preflop and postflop)?

It feels as if i should be playing top <10% of hands preflop but that means that as soon as I call he can just play super cautiously sacrifice the chips and claim them back in the long run. If he hits when I call I'm in a pretty crap situation and bound to lose quite a few chips.

So yeah, I've probably lost 8 of the last 10 games that I've played against overbetting maniacs. I can beat other types of players just not these guys.
Any extra tips would be nice

No, you need to fight fire with fire and it will make you a better player.

Just start 3betting all your pairs, Ax and Kx hands (not Q7) and dont be afraid to get it in light.

Like in the hand where you had A2, he makes it 5x and you fold.

By this point in the match, I would certainly consider just shoving, he very likely just has garbage and will fold, and maybe we a call from KQ/KJ. Optimal? Probably not, but consider it.

In short, you have to not be afraid and just gamble, if you wait for a big hand in a HU SnG vs a maniac, it may be too late when you hit and you will be too shortstacked to get real value from it.

If you are learning HU, trying playing AS a maniac for a few games and it might help your understanding on how to better combat them.

Hand 1 = call.
Hand 3= shove.
Hand 7= shove.
hand 9= Sometimes I call here vs this guy.
Hand 13= I don't know what you are doing. You could flat or fold pre. Either might be ok against this guy.

I think, at the outset of a match at the 2's, you have to assume that your opponent is drunk or drooling until proven otherwise.

Imo, the 4x on the very first hand does nothing to offset that assumption. I will never fold k9 there.

3: call
6: cbh flop you aren't folding out anything
13: fold pre

nice post, but what about if you have huge edge postflop? Is it still optimal to build bigger pot oop with stuff like K7o/A4o ? I generally flatcall those hands

No. Why would you want to get it in so deep (that's what she said) with a small pair? You can find a much better spot than this to ship over the top. Just flat for implied.
