Yeah, you'd actually have to get to the end to see where I come around to none of that matters because I probably suck and all the blustering is ego-doucheness I have to lose to be good at anything. We all have our things in life in life we're just naturally talented at maybe being a douche is mine. Citing the size of someones BR when that's not even what the post is about (I wrote that when I ran a decent BR for 100nl grinding down to $67) seems pretty douchey too. Hypocrisy might be your calling.

It was actually 3k at the start of the downswing. At the point I was doing it with $400 it was life tilt. FWIW, I FT'd an FTOPS two weeks after that post and haven't been as bad at BR management since. Well, in poker at least. Life BR is another story.

Nice post sir.

While reading this I can totally relate to your position. I'm an Engineer myself learning to play the game and I'd say my biggest leak is as you say the B and C game brought on my "bad luck", mental fatigue, arrogance, etc.

As of now my main way to reduce this is to try not to play for more than 1 hour at a time, then have a 30 minute break. This costs me a lot if I have to either miss good games or not play as good in them.

Where does one hire a mental coach, or was that just a poker coach who focuesed on the mental side of things etc?

that is spot on, im just starting out at husng's and i feel that reading that has saved me years of bad beat moans and marginal profits. Amazing post. The HEM review of HH's after a session has to make sense.

Poker is weird that way... If we were playing basketball and couldn't make a free-throw we would probably ask someone better than us to help us with our technique. We would probably get a lot of weird looks if we just complained about our unlucky free-throw or how bad we run at basketball.
