I've played my first 440 spins with a 37.7% ITM and a 36.5% evITM lol

My EV chips are 21.347 right now and I can't seem to go higher than 23.000

I'm playing 0.25€ in pokerstars Spain if anybody is wondering.

The thing is... I can't ****ing understand EV chips. How should I play so they increase? I don't care about anything else since I've been told that a decent evITM should be 38%

I don't understand how they work. Should I go all-in only with aces? lol Nah seriously, how the **** they work.

Sorry for the cursing but I'm so pissed, I've played 100 spins and I've only managed to decrease from a 37 ev ITM to a 36.5

There's no special way to play to make your ev chips go up more or whatever. If you're playing well, you'll make chip ev. If you're not, you won't.

The only difference between real chips and ev chips happens when you are in an all-in pot with cards to come--there ev chips give you your expectation value rather than the result. In all other places they are the same. So to increase your ev chips, yeah just play good.

But if ev chips are only a measure of how you play your all-in, isn't it limited then? Is there a combination of statistics you would recommend to get a better and more complete picture of your overall quality of play?

Currently playing 1$ spins @ close to 90 cEV, 7,5% roi and 40-41% itm (haven't imported evroi and evitm yet in PT4)...

Chip EV is pretty much the best we've got. It's like the normal chip line except more accurate because of the changes in allin pots.

"But if ev chips are only a measure of how you play your all-in"

it also tracks your non-all-in play too. it just that the EV line and actual $$ result line are the same in non-all-in pots.

even though it is the best measure we have, there is variance in the EV line. especially in spins. for example running bad in 3 handed spots can lead to fewer HU games where most of your cEV/game comes from. over short samples there may also be an uneven distribution of hands played in e.g. the BTN v BB postions 3 handed. Since you expect to be BE in the BB and have a higher bb/100 in the btn this can show up in the EV line. There are many similar effects in spins.
