Brings back memories..Back in the day about 3ish years ago I made the final table of the $11 rebuy on stars.
Invited all my friends over, played on my laptop and we all drank beer and smoked my buddys volcano and watched me try to win first which was like $11k..
My parents were away and it was a sunday so I was amped as **** and was gona throw a keg party after winning it.

Got down to 3. I was 2nd in chips and first place shipped it on me while i had pocket Kings.
he had pocket 5s. K52 flop. 5. Devastated.. river **** IT.

still had the keg party tho

At the lower levels ($115 mainly in my experiences) refusing to chop with most players, particularly marginal regulars or players you feel are afraid/unwilling to play good players is a good idea. It intimidates them into waiting for you to get a game first.

Before you laugh at that idea, I'm aware of two very big names that give another regular free reign on lobbies when they are playing, solely bc that regular has said "I will sit you when you are in the lobby unless you unregister." You don't have to be that bold or aggressive, all you have to do is say "sorry, I don't chop games" and you'll get the same sort of effect.

----

Since the players at the stakes you mentioned are often top notch and aren't going to have a big edge over one another in most cases (or they both feel this way), you'll probably want a different suggestion to fully solve this problem. The best I can do is:

- Gather the high stakes regulars and send separate or one big chain letter to Stars asking to put in more lobbies or something else that would solve your dilemma. I did this in some form with the rematch button and the 2x VPP promo we were temporarily shut out of. Perhaps not solely due to these, but both situations were fully fixed to the player's liking.

- Create a basic chat room and make sure you all sign in when you are playing, rotate lobbies on a first come, first serve basis in the chat. You may not get everybody to do this, but it's possible most fellow regulars would participate.

- Rotate times/days that you play. This one doesn't seem logical to me, but I'll throw it out there anyways. I can't imagine anybody wanting to constrain themselves to certain times of the day or certain days, but perhaps some of the more grinding types play at certain hours and days and you guys can figure out a system that lessens the regjam at offpeak times.

This is probably the most obv and common solution -- but when you see them playing a game ask them in their lobby if they have AIM, MSN, Facebook--- etc etc and get in touch with them about sharing games. If you are 'in contact' with the 2-3 regs that are currently trying to sit that game you have a fabulous chance of not losing $$ to fees.

yeah i think SS is down but i've searched some of my villains on FT and it's shown their previous results for today? However, it doesn't do the same for me.

Sejje you seem slightly more knowledgable than most of us on the subject- Do you think they will somehow update it with the results lost in between or will they be forever committed to the Sharkscope graveyard?

Why do people care so much about SS?

99% of people that sit are bad/fish, and if a good player sits, theres a good chance you already know them.....

Now, if I start to add volume during the 12-6pm hours, what type of players can I expect to play. I would expect less fish but would like to know from someone who plays or has played the 100s on ftp during this time period of the day. Thanks for answers in advance.
Anybody help me out with this question? Any $100 ft regs play from 12-6pm est? How is the competition compared to later at night eastern standard time? Thanks.

I don't play on FTP anymore, Brilliant, but think about your question. Who's home during that time? People who don't work a 9-5. Who doesn't work a 9-5? College kids. Who makes up the biggest player base of online poker? College kids. Who fits that demographic AND plays lots of poker? College age poker pros.

Most of the fish will be on after 6pm, once they get home from work. The later the better since they will be more tired/drunk/tilted, whatever.

True, most of what you said is what I was thinking. But i thought the games might be decent nonetheless because its nighttime for many euros during that time. Guess the only way to find out is for me to play during the day and find out myself and compare my results to my post6pm results.

I think the only time this doesnt hold up is Fri/Sat late-nights --specifically bc as the night goes on drunk people begin to 'go big or go home' w/their newly found courage.

I sincerely doubt they'll make it onto sharkscope. I just can't see how it can happen.

that's cool

i'm not really bothered about SS'ing my villains as much as i am keen to keep an eye on my own stats. it's good to know how many games you've played for the day and how much you're up/down without having to resort to pen and paper.

FTP does have a tournament history page, you could check that.
