High Stakes Players not CBetting? High Stakes Players not CBetting?

I was watching some HU Cash instructional videos on Bluefire to improve my HUSNG game. One video involved statistical analysis of heads up matches and in both the durrrr vs jungleman heads up challenge and Haxton vs Isildur challenge, strategies involving a low cbet frequency was adopted.

For example, durrr cbet in position (single raised pots) only around 30% vs jungleman, while Haxton cbet 50% vs Isildur.

I think its interesting that the highest stakes players are using such a strategy against each other but it is rarely seen in mid-stakes regs.

Of course deep stacked poker would be different to the 20bb poker in Hyper Turbos. Question: Would a strategy based around a low cbet frequency work better deepstacked heads up or with short stacks?

Well the question you ask more depends on the board texture and the ranges of both players. It is true, most mid stakes regs c-bet "too much" but you have to consider their opponents. They will mostly be playing weak opposition that will fold too much on the flop/later streets, so a high c-bet strategy works out well vs their opposition. However, vs good players this strat will clearly not work. Good players will float, check raise, call down lighter, which will decrease the ev of many of your c-bet hands, which will force you to check more hands
