Notes on villain - has had a pretty tight game up until now but has tried to steal pots on the river a few times (folded to a re-raise).

Has donked out on flop before but only for pot and only once. Folded to a raise. Otherwise he's been c/calling flop, betting turn a lot.

Poker Stars, $5 + $0.25 NL Hold'em Tournament, 30/60 Blinds, 2 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

BB: 2,340
Hero (BTN): 3,660

Pre-Flop: (90) A A dealt to Hero (BTN)
Hero raises to 120, BB calls 60

Flop: (240) T 5 9 (2 Players)
BB bets 660, Hero ???

I nearly always ship flop, but this particular villain has been passive with draws all match. If I call and he pushes the turn himself, do I call? What if he bets 300 - 700?

Spoiler:
Turn: (1,560) 4 (2 Players)
BB bets 1,560 and is All-In

He can do this with al kind of hands. I dont think his hand is very strong cause he donks in to you, and overbet the pot, so normally when you have a strong hand you want some chips in you decide to checkraise cause this boards also hits a range you can have. When I am facing a donkbet like this I will snap shove it, Is see him do this with a weak ten, maybe a 9 butalso 88 or 77 and a lot of draws so I will make a Happy dance and shove it, and when he has a draw keep youre fingers crossed.

1) Yes;
2) push (villain is way too committed to fold weaker hands at that point).

Not THAT excited because he probably never has complete air here, but AA is just too strong to fold.

why the f did u call ?
His overbet shows weakness , a strong hand bets small for you to call cuz is not afraid of draws.

I say he must have a FD + 2 overs , so he bets big to add some fold equity to his hand.
Or top pair good kicker. 2 pairs or trips it is enough for a pot size bet (even smaller) but never overbet.

But why did u call ? 2 things can happen:
he gets another card that improves him and beats u - bad
he gets another card and it does not improve him , so he wont put any more cips in the pot.

Not exactly true. Overbetting is an art and you don't need quads to drag the bar.

If you are a better player, I think you should still shove. Folding is probably -ev.

i would always shove this.....yes your probably up against a fd so the more cards he gets to see the worse for you, slow playing this hand will get you into trouble, by shoving you eliminate his chance of bluffing a possible straight if a q or 8 comes off and if he has a nice pp he will most likely fold or if he calls you collect......possible a larger raise of 2.5x bb would eliminate his hand

I like this option best and calling turn. However in game I had a brainstorm and called then folded the turn push.

I also stoved it giving villain a range of sets, 2-pairs, flush draws w/ top pair and straight-flush draw and I'm still 58% to win.
