i mean i def dont think ev tells the whole picture... but as you're assuming it does in this case, 18-19 games in HTs is not close reg vs reg. that's a pretty huge roi reg vs reg... but i'm not saying that my ev roi would be this high long term, just arguing against your point...

I just meant that EV is widely considered to be a more accurate picture than actual results. I took the 5k or so in difference from your graph and divided by $500 to get 10 buyins and took 10 games from you and added to him to come up with the 8 buyin difference in EV.

I may have been wrong about the above, so I'm stating my calculations. But given the EV it seems fairly close, over 500+ games, 8 buyins is less than 2 wins of edge per 100 games.

Maybe I'm being a fish and miscalculating or taking something wrong.

Not trying to diminish your victory either, very impressive, flippety is considered a top notch player, fresh off an insane month of profit and consistent winnings at a high level. Even if you had broke even it would be impressive, but you beat him both in EV and in wins.

ryan i'm actually not sure the difference in chip ev was 18-19 games. this does not account for rake, but shows there's a near 10,000 ev chip difference which i think is substantial reg vs reg.

i'm not offended or anything, but think you're wrong although i'm not sure. i mean it really doesnt matter, i'm now just more curious than anything. if i'm correct i think you're missing the point although roi might not be huge, it appears in this sample to be positive and since these are HTs winrate is more of what you should be looking for.

If we're talking purely about ev, which as mentioned isn't still the best estimator, busto made like slightly over $5k, which means he had like 1,87% ev ROI, wchich sounds kinda huge in reg vs reg action.
