Previously winning micro/small stakes husng turbo player here on Bovada. On a painful downswing (30+ so far. 7 in a row yesterday alone) due to a mix of awful variance (how does I flip?) that encourages bad play (there is no WAY he sucked out 5 in a row, he's gonna have to show me...). I decided part of the problem is watching training videos way above my stakes where some of the advice backfires. Ie trying to run before you can walk. So, I decided to try the husng.com how to crush fish pack as they are at my level.
First thing said in the first preview clip was ”obviously the biggest mistake weak players make is they fold too much. I'm min raising every button and c betting %100 percent unless they give me a reason not to."

This shocks me to hear. Literally NOBODY EVER folds at the micro stakes. In fact it's a huge weakness of mine I'm trying to improve. Are these videos just too dated, or is this not how it is for you guys.

Yes that advice is terrible now. There is no evidence that mr 100% cb 100% is the best readless strategy anyway (and actually it isn't)- just the easiest to implement.

The theme of that beginner pack is more about implementing aggression into your strategy, which is often a major part of why a beginning player does not succeed in heads up sngs.

The default strategy at the time that the author recommends, you have to take into account this was over 2 years ago + at the $15-30s stakes. No author will be 100% correct always, particularly low to mid stakes coaches, but that strategy was a solid winning strategy (generally speaking) 2.5 years ago in those games, and probably still is today. It wasn't the absolute best strategy 2.5 years ago, nor is it the absolute best strategy today, but as Watergun says, it is very easy to implement. Not many easy to implement strategies are worthwhile, but that one was and possibly still is in the right situation (site/buyin/husng game type).

Aggression continues to be a major reason why players struggle when starting HUSNGs though, so a lot in the pack should be relevant for the beginning player.

It's also important to note that tightening up isn't necessarily the solution when someone calls a ton preflop and on the flop (think about a guy at the micro stakes that calls 100% PF and on the flop to "see what happens" but gives up without a solid hand on later streets, not terribly uncommon for losing players to do... you don't want to tighten up vs that player).

Right, I had no doubt these packs were solid when they were released I just didn't know if the disconnect was the 2+ years (with that particular advice) or if I was missing something. Thanks for the insight.
