Here's the conclusion to this free series of HUSNG.com videos from currrr14 on how to analyze a villain's tendencies. currrr14 began the series by walking through the data on this opponent in the first video, and then proceeded to hand reviews with the next three videos. If you missed the earlier videos in the series, it is well worth starting from the first. Here are the addresses of the earlier three vids:
Part I
Part II
Part III

More than just a strong player, currrr14 is active in many aspects of poker. His latest project has been designing and programming a PT4 HUD called Spin & Go HUD. As the name says, this HUD is for the Spin & Go format, which has been making smart players a lot of money due to its attraction to fish. Following the HUD's release a month ago, currr has remained hard at work looking for new ways to make the HUD better. By incorporating feedback from users, he has released two updates to enhance the HUD, and he has already started developing ideas for how to enhance this HUD even more. For more information about this HUD, check out: http://www.husng.com/content/spin-go-hud

Hi guys, I've just started learning HUSNG recently, liked it alot, playing HU feels alot more engaged so I ended up purchasing the premium pack on HUSNG.com.

I'm trying to move up, starting from the bottom, but the cartel environment does scare me a little bit, so I have some questions in my mind, it would be great if someone could take the time to answer them:

1.what % of my games will be vs reg at the (Poker Stars) $3.5s, $7, $15? Is this reasonable for me to expect that 80%+ of my games will be vs fish?
2.What's a reasonable winrate that I should expect vs fish in Hyper? Provided that you're solid, somewhat :P disciplined. 54-55% seem reasonable in the micro?
3.Is there a good RB deal out there for new HU players? I put in decent volume but playing in the micro means I wont benefit from VIP levels n stuff..
4.I'm spending time on the premium video pack atm. Do you have any recommendations? Like if there's a video about a critical concept that new players tend to miss, or a video about a "normal" concept but did an exceptional job of explaining it?
5.I have no clues what do do in limped pot 10-14bb deep with K5s, J5s. These situation never occur in cash games. Can I do ok just "Cbet" most flop and take it from there? ie. play like I normally would in single raise pots ?

This is getting tl, dr :P. Feel free to pick and answer some (or none) of the above questions.
Also, I've really enjoy learning from the premium vid pack so far, feels like my $ investment will pay off soon .

Thx.

Unfortunately, the stupid word cartel ends up scaring people away (thanks 1k guys for that word from a few years back! and for $300s guys adopting it...)

The reality is, without divisions/groups, the potential profitability of the game would be far lower. Due to the lack of incentive an individual had to sit other regs with the seating software in HUSNGs (it only would help other regs), there needed to be a way to hold regs accountable for playing other regs, and not just "bumhunting" bad players all day.

Should be a very low % at $3.50 and 7s. You'll see more "reggy" players at $15s. It's important to note that you should be able to learn and exploit even regular players as you move up. A guy that is really good in $3.50s or $7s is going to be moving up very fast. Regular players that might win a bit off of the large population of casual players are going to be very exploitable, so don't pass up or worry about playing these guys, you can absolutely within reason get good enough to handle these regs with a solid winrate.

Higher is certainly possible, but 54-55% is definitely reasonable.

On PokerStars, there is no rakeback. At HUSNG.com we give players a bunch of free video packs that signup over time, that way as you improve you're getting some good resources to help you along the way.

On other sites, rakeback can be possible, shoot me a PM if you have specific requests for networks or questions and I can get you full information.

Mersenneary's videos are really solid and mostly talk about how to evaluate situations, rather than set in stone strategies (the latter will fall out over time as the avg player's tendencies change over the years). So they are very helpful in teaching you how to think about a situation, how to evaluate a hand range and then figure out a counter strategy.

Some other good videos are the ones dealing with donk bets and check raising the flop (concept videos), a lot of the material in those is still very solid fundamentally for a player like you.

Coffeeyay's later videos, h2olga's few premium vids... those are good ones to check out as well.

This is a very general question, because board texture and opponent type matters a lot, but I would agree that you can and should cbet a lot of flops in limped pots vs many opponents at these lower levels (they will fold too much to one or two bets unless they have a good draw or good pair). Of course, some players are going to exhibit different tendencies, so you should adapt to individual opponents.

I don't think it'll necessarily get lower as you move up, at least not for awhile.

Your improvement can outpace the field for awhile.

We have a twin update to Spin & Go HUD, updating the Pro edition to version 1.0.7 and the Plus edition to 1.0.8. currrr14's testers have been testing these versions for a full month to prepare them for release. Key features in this release include:
  • Main panel is split into two panels.
  • First to Act and Facing Action.
  • Stats are rearranged to see what your opponent is doing more efficiently.
  • VPIP stat for SB and BB facing action has been added.
  • Fold to steal stat for SB and BB
  • BB Flat Stat is flat vs. SB Steal

When a premium PT4 HUD is updated, any changes that the HUD's users had made to the HUD on their local PT4 install, such as table group positioning, font adjustments, and adding extra stats, are lost through the update. To counter this effect and preserve local individual modifications made to the HUD by its users, we deploy updates to this HUD as new profiles installed parallel to the old profiles (this is the same approach that we use with CoffeeHUD updates). What this means for you is that you will have all of the older versions alongside the new versions. Your old versions will still have any modifications you had made to them, which gives you the power to patiently replicate your modifications in the new versions without having to worry about your modifications disappearing. However, a growing list of HUD profiles can cause increases in PT4 startup times and clutter in the HUD list. If you would like to have the older versions removed so that only the current versions are kept, please send us an e-mail to membership@husng.com. In your e-mail, please include the last six digits of your PT4 registration code so that we can more easily identify your PT4 license. You can find the last six digits of your PT4 registration code inside PT4 itself by opening the "Help" menu and selecting "About".

Any time a new custom HUD or or other kind of addon is installed in PT4, it is a good idea to perform a custom cache rebuild. This can be launched from within PT4 as follows:
  1. Open the "Database" menu
  2. Select "Database Management"
  3. Select your database (if you have more than one database, you will need to repeat these
  4. steps for each database in turn)
  5. Click "Rebuild Cache"
  6. Select "Custom Cache Rebuild"

Please be advised that if you have a very large database, a cache rebuild can take a long time. For those with particularly large databases, we recommend that you wait until after you are finished with your grind before starting the rebuild.

We hope that you find this HUD useful and exciting. We welcome any and all suggestions for improvements. If you would like to provide us with feedback on this HUD, please e-mail us your comments to membership@husng.com.

For more info about the Spin & Go HUD, please head to http://www.husng.com/content/spin-go-hud.

HUSNG.com is proud to announce a new heads up hyper turbo video pack for which 100% of the proceeds will be going to charity. We present, from first-time video pack producer ibavly, Beating Recs.

While so much training material has a heavy, or in some cases near-total, emphasis on playing vs regs, it is against recs that the most money is made. In this pack, ibavly live-reviews hands against recreationals at the 60s and 100s. There is also a conceptual section which includes an interesting discussion about folllowing gut feelings or hard analysis.

This is a shorter pack, 39 minutes in length. At $20, it is also priced very competitively. Still better, all of the revenue this pack will generate will be split between two charities in Toronto, Canada. If you would like to donate to a good cause and come away with a pack that focuses on areas that do not receive much attention, please visit our main page for this pack here: http://www.husng.com/content/beating-recs

Are you going to produce premium Spin & Go / Jackpot SnG video packs soon that will be available for free for those who rake on your deals?

(Edit: I understand that Coffee's pack is rather expensive, but you can award it for several K of rake generated over the span of several months. And it has started making sense today because WPN has just rolled out JP SnGs.)

WPN has lower stakes ones now, but I believe they will add higher level ones in May. Can't wait!

Hey,

Im a 6max hyper player and looking to improve my HU game.
The majority of my HU hands is played at <14BB stacks and vs. regulars (only few hands vs. specific villains but a lot of different villains).
So Im mainly looking for 8-14BB play. Any recommondations for videos/packs that mainly deal with that stacksizes? Getting private coaching is also an option, so recommondations for coaches are also welcome.

edit: kinda offtopic, but what is considered a decent BB/100 at 8-14BB stacks?

Thanks!

His focus with these videos is on helping low-stakes players move up, and his reviews support that focus.

Maybe 4-8 in SB, 3-6 in BB. That's from Coffeeyay.

His video pack (Math in HUSNGs) is really solid. There are a number of other packs that might interest you, take a look at the free video clips in some of the featured packs and hyper packs, your skill level and budget play a large part too.

Turbo Masters Pack is a recent pack that should help you at those levels. It's not too reliant on HUDs either.

You'll be adjusting each match pretty much individually to your opponent and it'll likely be too difficult to know when you play the same person twice (perhaps once in awhile odd raise/bet sizes will tip you off, but that is the exception rather than norm).

Hey, I got it working and can't wait to watch the videos. Thanks again for the recommendation. I ran into problems when, before downloading, I selected run instead of save. When I re-downloaded it then I could click on the saved .exe file and unzip it with no problems and then when unzipped, I put in my activation code and everything is working great. My ****** firewalls my have contributed to my problems the first time around. Both times took roughly six or maybe more hours to download so I changed the sleep settings on my laptop (windows 8 ) to "never" go to sleep so that I could step away from the plugged in computer while the download was in progress.

We bring you the first part of 307th's debut video, a hyper turbo HUSNG study session in which he thoroughly breaks down an opponent whose tendencies to limp call a lot and not limp shove very much 307th finds to be rather unusual for the $100 to $200 level. To analyze this opponent and find appropriate counters to exploit such tendencies, 307th uses the program CardRunnersEV, but prior knowledge of it is not necessary to gain value from this vid, and HUSNG.com's own CoffeeCalcs is also an excellent alternative, being designed with a pure focus on heads up SNGs.
