PokerStars - 10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players

BB: 27 BB
Hero (SB): 23 BB

Early in the match, readless.

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A 8

Hero raises to 2 BB, BB calls 1 BB

Flop: (4 BB, 2 players) 5 2 A
BB bets 2 BB, Hero calls 2 BB

Turn: (8 BB, 2 players) 9
BB checks, Hero checks

River: (8 BB, 2 players) 5
BB bets 8 BB

In hindsight I think I should bet turn here?

River?

Yeah, I would bet the turn, as I think villain would've bet the turn with all hands better than yours, except for some flushes. As played, I might make a very exploitative fold otr. Villain's range seems to be weighted towards trips a lot. He would bet most Ax, 2pair and bluffs on this turn, and won't make a pot-sized bluff on a pairing river often.

Hmm pretty close spot but as you said this yourself dont you think that if we always fold in spots like this we are literally burning money and getting exploited really hard???
I mean he could be turning some hands into a bluff but on the otherside if villain leads flop in this spot I think he is leading with a hand that he wants to maybe protect or a hand that he can't pay let's say a pot sized bet.
Checking turn for SDV maybe and betting riv full pot is a bet that reps trips really hard.
Now tham I am thinking the hand I lean towards a very exploitative fold but I don't know if I could do that in game.

It feels very nitty indeed, but he's got so little air here, and trips so often. Vs a reg, you can't consider folding.

Call his ass. It looks like he has 5x, because a lot of fishy players like to lead with middle pair on flops, but call anyway. He could have 64, 63, 4x, 3x, and other ****.
