What's the best play vs the population? Seems like probing, check-calling and check-folding are all fine.

We have some SDV, but it's hard to realize it by checking on this board, and I don't really like check-calling with a weakish heart here. Bluffing also seems marginal.

PokerStars - 10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BB): 22.5 BB
SB: 27.5 BB (VPIP: 40.00, PFR: 20.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 5)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 8 K

SB raises to 2 BB, Hero calls 1 BB

Flop: (4 BB, 2 players) Q 6 J
Hero checks, SB checks

Turn: (4 BB, 2 players) 5
Hero ?

What factors do you consider here? Do you agree that it's indeed close between the three options?

Sample size (5 hands) too low to judge villain's style.

I like bet/folding here, I like checking and -calling or folding- depending on villain's bet size. Readless, I would bet and then make a decision based on his response.

If I bet/fold, I will try to balance this in a later spot by probing with 2p or better, especially if he tries to play loose by reraising big in the spot we are talking about.

The size of my betting can be 3/4pot or more if I want to be more loose in this game.
This sizing is important if I choose to bet in this spot with air (K high and weak fd is still air here, although decent showdown value air).

I villain is not too aggro, check/calling can be ok. If the flush completes with any card, I would be very careful on the river.

Hope I helped.
