Standard double barrel, even vs a rec? What size would you use?

PokerStars - 10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: 26 BB (VPIP: 68.18, PFR: 30.00, 3Bet Preflop: 50.00, Hands: 25)
Hero (SB): 24 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 5 3

Hero raises to 2 BB, BB calls 1 BB

Flop: (4 BB, 2 players) 9 6 9
BB checks, Hero bets 1.5 BB, BB calls 1.5 BB

Turn: (7 BB, 2 players) 2
BB checks, [color=red]Hero ?

I think I'd rather check this back vs a rec, but I guess you can go either way. I feel like they call a lot here with 2 overs or just A/K-high, so you will be valueowning yourself a decent amount. Besides the flush draw, your pair outs are often alive too, so you can win a decent amount by checking.

If you check here you can still bluff some blank rivers if he doesn't probe as he's likely only got some only high card strength is probably more likely to fold the river than the turn.

Having a 20% free chance to stack 9x on the river is pretty nice, but it would be awful to have to fold a flush draw if he raises here.

So you would be more inclined to barrel non-draw air here? Or also check that?

Because of the draw or despite the draw?

Id do the same with other non sd hands, ofc checking back bad rivers, should be plenty of air in BB range, esp vs that cbet sizing

Bluffing no draw is better then a draw here for sure. Debatable whether we want to bluff either of them, but imo draws are a clear check. We get x/r by 9x here a ton, but have implied odds checking back since when we hit we stack that 9x that would have x/r. Without a draw you want to barrel if you think villain flats a lot of high cards here that fold to the barrel but it's really thin since that's all you can fold on turn...
