Villan has been very aggressive so far, that is the reason i did not raise pre-flop. My plan was to just call him down....but then he made the big river bet If I remember correctly he made some pot sized bets before but he has not overbet the pot.
Do I pretty much need to call here???

thanks

with the lack of specific reads on whether or not he barrels scare cards, i think this has to be a fold.

that being said, going in with eights and calling down despite overcards is a bad idea. there is absolutely no reason to limp eights in position if youre going to play it the way you did.

omg going to be really really hard to turn down the snark here.

OP: 88 is the nuts vs. an aggro villain. 3x preflop and shove over his 3bet. Print $$$$$$. /thread

Why didn't you re-raise on the flop to 255 or something like that?
If he called, then shove on the turn.

Whatīs the best option.

limp/shove or limp/raise?

limp shoving is definitely easier to play if hes monkey aggro, I mean, the call 4bet shove flop type.

We want him to call the 4bet shove.

There was a missing comma there, I meant "call 4bet raise, and shoves flop".

Sure we want him to call 4bet shove.

But letīs say heīs the type of donk who wants to outplay you all the time, so if you shove he knows heīs behind and he folds, but if you raise him to like 450 he just calls. If the flop brings two broadway cards itīs already a bit difficult to make the call if he open shoves flop.

I usually just limp shove because I wanna avoid a decision for all the chips on a bad flop. donīt know if itīs the most +ev decision. Itīs certainly the one where you make less mistakes.
