He didn't cash in either event 1 or 4 - of course smart money is on the fact that he didn't play and just stole the money. He hasn't even logged on to 2+2 since just after midnight last Friday morning.

I was able to post a comment on his FB letting him know we need him to come to this thread with an explanation.

Gastonia, NC isn't that far away and it's close to Cherokee where I always have a free room - if I have to bring a small claims case against him I gladly will. I'm not going to let some douchebag just steal my money.

There's no doubt about that. We got robbed by Calvin Artie Smith, 722 Cove Road, Gastonia NC 28052. Scamming thieving piece of ****.

I have a friend that knows his Aunt/Uncle. They are going to speak with them and he believes he will make right.

That would be great - hope they can't talk some sense into him.

I assume that those discussions weren't fruitful. I have sent him a letter today on my law office letterhead letting him know that the debt isn't going to be forgotten and suggesting that he contact me asap to discuss my $300 or so and the $900 or so total that is owed to posters in this thread.

Calvin Artie Smith from Gastonia NC is a thief and a scammer.

I don't know about USA lawyer code of conduct, but I'm a UK lawyer and would get in a lot of trouble for doing this!

Why would you get in trouble? He sent a demand letter to someone that owes him money, absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I don't wish to derail but in the UK it is a big SRA code of conduct issue to use your standing as a lawyer, or your law firm's standing, to leverage pressure to a personal matter (irrespective of whether you are right). I'd also likely be suspended by my firm for using its letterhead to assert authority to what I was writing when it is of a personal nature. It'd be like an off-duty cop flashing his badge to require someone to follow an order which was a personal request, even if it was for an objectively "good" reason.

Interesting, definitely not a problem here unless the firm had a problem with it.

There's nothing wrong or unusual in letting a person know that they can be sued for committing fraud. It's how we do it over here.

Interesting, since you look at past post and he has applied for stakes and marketplace approval under that name and even put a email: Calvin.a.smithx at gmail

I sent my pay pal money to "Artie.s.smith@gmail.com" - I mean who knows but instead of just dodging me he got in touch with what seemed like genuine "I have no clue" attitude.

Wish 2p2 staff could confirm info on the account in a case like this.

I'm not too sure about his "I have no clue" attitude. Artie Smith of Gastonia, NC passed away in 2015 and looks to have a son, Calvin Smith.

Since OP created a new account just to report a post with this reason: "reveals personal details", I assume he knows about this and has no intention of paying back. I've banned OP and his gimmick. OP, if you feel you have legit legal reasons why something should be removed, email administration.

If you're looking for info, you should contact moderators or report a post - mods don't read every post on this forum. It's only because of OP's gimmick account post report that I saw this.

That said, I'm not sure what you'd be looking for us to confirm. About the only thing I can tell you is that he used this email address to register:

If there's something else you're looking for, LMK, but it's not like there's a lot of personal info we ask for when people create an account. You can put whatever you like for birthdate, and the only other thing I can think of are IP addresses, which we don't generally give out.
