The main event for the Fall Open Poker Tournament at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL is this weekend, with Day 1A beginning on Friday, October 9th.



I'm not entirely sure which Day 1 I'd play just yet, but I will be sometime in the next few days. The $150k guarantee has a buyin of $1,100, and I'll be selling 5% shares at $70 (1.27:1 markup). The tournament should be extremely soft, so I think this is reasonable.

Although I've been focusing almost entirely on cash lately, I did play a few tournaments last month and got 2nd in a Stars $33+R for $3.4k and 4th in some stupid $22 deep stack (as if that's even worth mentioning). I made $16.5k last month between cash games, rake back, and those tournaments scores.

big hand #1:

i have ~52k with 300/600 and there are two limpers in front of me with T7dd in the hijack...first limper is short so i overlimp. sb completes and bb checks. flop comes AKQdd and it checks to the aggro fish to my right who leads 2400 into a 3k pot. i raise to 8k and he insta-shoves for 25k total and i obv call. he has the nuts and i don't catch up.

big hand #2 (not really a big hand, but it was my busto hand):

right after the dinner break, blinds are 400/800/100 and i have ~22k. folds to the aggro fish sb (same from previous hand), and he opens to 5k. i shove with A2o and he snap calls with AJo obv and acts like he's the s***). flop comes AJX and i don't hit my runner-runner.
