July 8 WSOP One Drop $111,111


This event is probably the best 100k event of the year in terms of value. It typically gets around 135-166 entires and Im assuming this year it may be even bigger considering they changed the structure form the previous 40 min levels 2 day tournament to 1 hour levels and 3 day tournament. It always has a good mix of businessmen who show up to play the event. Some of these entries will be Gui's wealthy friends as it is important to him to make sure this is a successful event.

The amount taken out for charity is 3.5% and 1.5% will go to dealers. I will tip 0.5% on top of this out of the payout.

During the WSOP I have a pretty strict regimen of workout, yoga, meditation, eating clean, and of course studying poker / going over hands. As a result I usually play my best poker during WSOP and will be in a pretty good zone. I also feel like i'm playing the best poker of my life at the moment so looking forward to crushing this summer with the amount of work on my game i've been putting in recently :P

So you'll be tipping more than the markup? Not sure why you would ever tip additional money when there's already a cut going to the dealers.

I think you misread. The markup is 7.5% and the additional tip is 0.5% so only a half of a percent.

I typically don't feel the need to tip extra but since this is a charity event that is run with the expectation to get some extra tips to go towards the charity i feel like its reasonable to do so and 0.5% is a pretty reasonable minuscule amount imo.

Also I jumped into the $1k today as this thread hasn't sold out yet and I had quite a bit left to sell earlier today. The restart for it is at noon and one drop starts at 1pm so only would skip if I miss the first 2 levels which would be by 3pm. will lower markup by 2% for every full level that I miss but the $1k structure is pretty fast so slim chance this even comes up

Made day 2 of the $1k with about 45bbs. As stated if i get knocked out early in day 2 will still register the $111k and if not will refund everyone accordingly. Was able to get in touch with mostly everyone and seems like most would want me to register up until level 4 since I will still have over 100bbs so I'll make that the cutoff point where I don't register.
