Hey guys! It's that time of year again, and that means it's time to make another summer package template!

As of this moment I could only find the WSOP and Golden Nugget schedules, and I'm going to call Bellagio, Venetian, Caesars, and Binions to find out when they plan to release theirs, as well as any other casinos having a relevant poker series this summer. Once they do I'll add tournaments to the templates as they are released. Bellagio does have the WPT events scheduled already, but I didn't find any prelim schedule so I'm going to call and ask about it and if there won't be any I'll just add the WPTs to the schedule as well. If a schedule comes out and I miss it or if you find errors in my spreadsheets please let me know itt and I'll add/fix them ASAPly.

Here are the standard templates for the full and NLHE-only schedules:

2013 Las Vegas Summer Schedule

2013 Las Vegas Summer Schedule (NLHE-Only)

I've also made 2 additional template that allow for individual markups and/or %s sold for each tournament (in case anyone is interested, you can see how selling this way works here):

2013 Las Vegas Summer Schedule v2

2013 Las Vegas Summer Schedule (NLHE-Only) v2

Here are the basic instructions on how to create, protect, share, and use your own copy of the template as per DoGGz' original 2011 post (the overall method is the same):

To make confusion as low as possible, I've created a helpful guide. Those who are unfamiliar with google documents may find helpful answers to their questions below.

Step 1) Make a copy of the 2011 summer schedule template. To do so go to File>Make a copy. You will be prompted to rename the sheet. Add your real name or 2p2 screen name to the title so that your sheet is easily identified.

Step 2) Fill out the top details including your name, 2p2 name and online screen names. Country of origin will help investors know their tax implications with your package.

Step 3) Delete the tournaments from the schedule that you will not be playing. Most of the tournaments on the template you are unlikely to play. Make sure the final copy includes only those tournaments you wish to sell action into!

Highlight the rows in which you wish to delete. Go to Edit>Delete Rows X-Y.

Step 4) Adjust your markup options at the bottom of the sheet. I've included two different options, one for online cash and one for live cash. You can change these options in any way you wish. You can also charge whatever markup amount you feel is justified. Changing the markup number will adjust the cost of that piece for any potential buyer.

Step 5) Protect your spreadsheet. You do not want other members editing your sheet. To protect each individual sheet, click the arrow on the corner of the document tab on the bottom left hand side of the browser window. Use option 'Protect Sheet>Only Me'.

Step 6) Share your spreadsheet. For the public to look at the schedule you've created, you need to share the spreadsheet. To do so, click Share in the top right side of the browser and go to Share Settings. Under Permissions, click Change and set to Public on the web

Step 7) Optional: Save your buyer information on the second sheet. This will make managing who has a piece of your action easier. The Action Summary tab can be accessed on the bottom left of the browser window next to the main tab.

Step 8) Copy the link to your thread! Good luck in Vegas this summer!

Here is a sample sheet from a player who is going to be in Vegas for the first two weeks of the series.
I'll post instructions on how to use the specific features of each sheet shortly.

Good luck to everyone going to Vegas this summer and thanks to those of you using these templates!

-Joe

Sorry I've been busy for the last week but here are the instructions on how to use the first two sheets from last year's thread:

I put a link to each series schedule in the Venue names so that you can go see the schedule directly on the website (in case of any changes or cancellations or whatever freaky stuff might happen between now and then). I also built the link to the structure for each event that had it available in the Game description. This way any buyers who want to know the structures for events in a potential investment can quickly and easily get them from the spreadsheet while they have it open. This could also help sellers decide which tournaments they want to include in their package without looking all over the internet for this info with different tabs and etc.

I also understand that it's common for people to make big schedules and because of day 2s or other circumstances not all events in a package may be played, leading to refunds. I know refunds can be a pain in the ass to figure out, especially with markup included (and maybe different markups for different buyers, no less), so I tried to automate refund amounts and include them in winning payouts as accurately as possible. The spreadsheet determines payouts like this:

1) At the start of the package it assumes all events were unplayed until you tell it you played an event. This is intuitive because say you decide to cancel the package or just don't play any of it, you owe all the money back as refunds.

2) For each event you play, let the spreadsheet know by putting a 1 in the Played? column on the same line as the event. If you play all of your events and therefore have all 1s in that column, your refunds will go to zero and payouts will be based solely on any winnings to have.

3) For each event you miss, put a 0 in the Played? column on the same line as the event. This has the same effect as an empty cell, but putting the 0 there helps you know the event has passed and avoids confusion in your records because it confirms you did not play (helpful for investors who may be watching the spreadsheet and wonder if you played something or not when seeing a blank space).

4) All winnings are entered into the spreadsheet manually in the winnings column, and tournaments with no cash can be either 0 or left blank (same effect, although putting a 0 is probably better for the same reasons as above).

5) The Action Summary tab automatically calculates the payouts for each investor based on winnings and refunds after you input the markup they paid, their percent share in the package, and any extra refunds you owe each individual buyer.

It's pretty simple and doesn't take much time to do each day after playing a tournament, and should make things a lot easier to figure out at the end of the package. I'll post a sample later just to make it clearer.

Here is a sample of what a spreadsheet might look like at the end of a series:

I also kept the overall markup options intact so players who charge different markups for different events can also charge premiums based on share size and payment method if they so wish. There are a few ways to use this functionality properly, although it does complicate things a little bit:

1) If you are going to charge different markup on different events and not charge a premium based on share size or payment method, change the markups in the Markup column in the schedule and leave the markup in the payment options at 1.00.

2) If you are going to charge the same markup for all events then leave the Markup column in the schedule at 1.00 and change the markup options at the bottom to be how you want them.

3) If you are going to charge different markup for different events and also wish to charge a premium for smaller share sizes/certain payment methods, change the numbers in the Markup column in the schedule to be the actual markup you are charging for that event, and change the markup options on the bottom to reflect the extra "stacked" markup for certain share sizes or payment methods. This method requires setting a certain share size+payment method combo as a baseline markup at 1.00 and having all other combinations be a multiple of this markup != 1.00 (whether it be higher or lower).

For example:
You are playing 4 events, a $500 NLHE, $1k NLHE, a $5k NLHE, and a $10k NLHE. You want the markup on these events to be 1.25, 1.2, 1.15, and 1.1, respectively. You also want people who pay with an online transfer to pay a slightly higher markup than those who pay with cash in Vegas, approximately 1.02x as much. To do this and still have accurate share prices, change the markup to 1.25, 1.2, 1.15, and 1.1 in the Markup column of the schedule for each event respectively, change the markup for shares in the live cash option to 1.0, and change the markup for shares in the online xfer option to 1.02. Share prices will now reflect the proper amounts for people to who to invest in your package with any method of payment.

Ill edit the sample to reflect the third point of this post shortly.

edit: Sample has been changed to incorporate these new features. If anyone finds any errors or something that I may have missed please let me know so I can make the necessary changes.

This seems intuitive since that is the only markup that would vary between investors, but I just want to make sure everyone knows this before accidentally paying back too much or too little

Those are all the posts I made relating to using the standard sheets last year. Instructions on how to sell different %s for individual tourneys coming up next. If you have any questions then please post them itt or PM me

Instructions for the "v2" versions on the sheets (selling different %s for individual tourneys):

In this version, I added an extra column in the schedule for sellers to change the % of each tourney that they wish to sell, and another column the automatically calculate the total cost of that tourney to the package based on the markup and % sold for the tourney on the same line. Because selling at different markups and %s may get confusing to investors (especially in big packages), I included cells at the top of the sheet that calculate the weighted average of the markup and % sold so investors could get a better idea of what they are paying for overall.

Sellers still need to manually enter whether they played the tourney and what they cashed for, and the sheet automatically calculates refunds and payout amounts for each tourney. The action summary page also calculates each buyer's payment to be sent at the end of the package, just like the last version. Sellers must also manualy enter how many shares of the package they would like to sell, just like they have to manually input what % of the total package they'd like to sell in the last version. Basically, sellers use this new version exactly the same way they used the original version, except in this one they have the added optionality of selling different %s to maximize value. Therefore, directions for properly using this version are pretty much the same as the other version.

The only real difference to note is that in this version you have to sell shares instead of a total % of the action in the package. This means that people who buy 1% of the package may get more or less than 1% of the cashes, depending on the varying %s sold per tourney. The spreadsheet calculates payouts in real-time, so if anyone who buys or sells a package with this template wants to see what they are owed/owe in the middle of the package all they need to do is check the $ Per Share cell to see how much is being returned per share (or check the Action Summary page if it is being used to see an investor's total payment).

If anyone has any questions/concerns please see Galen's EPT San Remo/Madrid thread to see how a package like this works (linked in my post above), and if you still have questions then please feel free to post them here or PM me.
Pretty much the same thing as the standard ones with a few more cells/columns to fill in before posting a package.

That should be it for the how-tos, so now we just have to wait for the other schedules to come out. Once they do I'll get them in the template ASAPly.

Hey guys. Just saw that the Venetian schedule is out but there is no fact sheet yet. I'm going to put the tourneys in and just update it with links to the fact sheet later.

The schedule is pretty huge and there are a ton of $300+ tourneys to add, so it might take a while for me to finish, but I'm going to start it tomorrow and probably spend most of the day on it until I'm done. I'll let you know when I've finished!

Thanks Joe.

On giving discounts when using the template: Be careful when giving discounts for bulk purchases. I've seen it many times where people offer like a 10% discount on markup or something, but actually wind up giving a 10% discount on the whole price which is entirely different. Like a 10% markup discount of a 1.3 MU makes it a 1.27 MU. Seen it so many times where they just do 10% of 1.3 making it a 1.17 MU which is just a huge mistake.

Just finished adding all $300+ Venetian events to the standard templates. Gonna do the v2 templates after I get some dinner cuz I'm starving right now

edit: I guess now that the Venetian tourneys have been put in it would be a good time to replace last year's sticky

edit edit: Also, I may as well mention that in the template the "Venetian" and "Palazzo" venues are the same series and are linked to the same page in case it wasn't obvious, but I just put which building the tournament is in to make it more helpful for making travel/commuting arrangements and etc

Hey guys.

Just added CP to the schedule. Sorry it's late but I was trying to Google it instead of checking the website directly and just stumbled upon it one day. Not sure how long it's been out but it's in there now.

I'll check for the remaining schedules again tomorrow and put them in if they are out and keep an eye out if they aren't.
