Wynn $550 - KK - Line check

Just want to see if everyone agrees with my line here.

I am probably the most active player at a very passive, somewhat loose table. Lots of opening, lots of c-bets and a few 2-barrels. Showdowns have all been good so far though.

All players involved have most of the 17.5k starting stack, or a little more.

100/200
I open to 450 from the hijack with KK.
V1 is on the button, young guy but has been very tight, but aggressive-ish when in a pot. He calls.
SB calls.

Flop: 843dd

SB checks, I bet 950, V1 raises to 2100, SB folds, I call.

Turn: Jh

I check, V1 bets 2000, I call.

River Js

I check...

Thoughts so far before I reveal anymore action?

Nh so far. Pretty much calling any river bet. Plenty of missed draws and its hard to give him Jx in this spot.

2.5x pre since stacks are kinda deep and no antes. apart from that you played it fine so far.

Re: Wynn $550 - KK - Line check

So I probably should include that it took him a while to make the turn bet, and that aside from the sizing, my live-read-lol would be that he didn't love his hand. Also the small bet convinced me that he was very unlike to have a set or weird 2 pair because I think he protects his big hands with a bigger bet since my line so far is a flush draw a lot.

Given that I have an aggressive image, I'm actually wondering if the river is a b/f. I don't think this is the type of player to 3-barrel a busted flush draw (nor do I think he was raising the flop on the flush draw). But I think I am missing value from hands like 8x, 99 and TT, which are all in his range. I thought about raising the turn because he seemed so weak, but that is really strong, and he would fold most of what I beat. Where as call turn, bet out safe river is a line that is going to get paid off.

Maybe I am just trying to retroactively convince myself I should have tried something fancy, but I feel like getting thin value, especially on the river is still one of my weakest areas.

He checked back A8 on the river btw

Yea I definitely considered doing that before I knew results so I don't think you are being r/o. What you said makes sense and I think betting the river is good.

Cool, glad someone else thought of that. I definitely should have included that it took him a while to bet the turn. There really isn't anything to think about if he has the set. Then the river card is the perfect card for him to make a crying call of a ~3.3k value bet.

If we're taking a balanced line then we have to check the river. It's hard for us to ge to the river and bluff.

Re: Wynn $550 - KK - Line check

leading river is not good imo. we almost have 0 bluffs there. but what I wonder about is your profiling of villain. you say he isn't the type to barrel river with a busted draw but he is the type to vbet 2nd pair ott? these usually don't cluster together.

But anyway, if you think he's not betting a busted draw otr, then I think river is a c/f tbh

ps. I haven't seen results yet.

I hate leading river, esp. if you're gonna b/f if shoved on. Might as well c/c in this spot.

What's wrong with b/f? His turn sizing turns his range a little face up to hands that probably won't value bet river very often but will confused call a lot when we take this weird line. And I highly doubt he's gona turn anything with SDV into as bluff so betting seems good
