Long time lurker ... treat me gently please! Two hands I played live yesterday and not sure if I did the right thing; ended up busting out with 88 vs QQ when short stacked, but these 2 hands helped me get down to that situation.

1:
Blinds 500/1000
Table folds round to CO (Hero, 40k) with AKo, raises to 2.5k
Button (TAG, 60k), raises to 8k
SB/BB fold, I call so now heads-up

Flop comes 3 6 9 rainbow

I check, button bets 6.8k
After thinking whether to raise all in, I fold ... Button had previously only 3bet with AA and JJ so had them on pocket pair

2:
Blinds 500/1000
Table folds round to CO (Hero, 28k) with KJ, raise to 2.5k
Button (TAG, 65k) calls
SB (LAG, 70k) calls
BB folds, so now 3-way

Flop comes K 6 7

I bet 2k
Button calls
SB raises 6k

Button and I both fold (SB then shows a red 3) ... was worried they had set/better kicker - but was that too tight?

1. 4bet jam pre when he makes it 8k in these positions.

2. Initial flop sizing looks very small? I wouldn't use this sizing to begin with and think that's the most important thing to take from this hand. As played, I'd call after betting so small, but I'd most likely bet around 40% pot on the flop.

How deep is this into tourney?

1.I would probably stack there AK with 40 bigblinds.
2.Yes your flop sizing is small made that you made villains possible of raise/folding. Which isnt too bad, but you gotta know what you gonna do when you get raised. I think folding KJ might be too tight there

Is jamming not high risk there, knowing that they've 3bet before only with high pairs? Ie up against AA/KK?

OK, noted on the bet sizing.

About 6 hours in ... probably level 8 or so, I was ~average stack at the time

On number 2: I was worried if I called, knowing this guy had been playing ANY two cards basically ... that if I called, no K/J appeared on turn and he barrels/goes all-in then I have to fold

1. AK here is a clear shove in my opinion. I don't think 6 hours of live play gives you big enough of a sample size to only put them on JJ+ AK there. I'm kind of taggy and against CO open sometimes 3bet **** like KTo, A4s, 79s, AQo etc. I would get it in and expect ****ton of folds, sometimes flips against TT-QQ which in tourneys you have to win anyway and rarely coolers against AA and KK, both of which you block.
2. Agree with others on flop sizing. As played call flop, call any spade, K and J turns, I would probably call on brick turns (sometimes rivers given his laggy nature) that miss all semibluffs as well. Vs raise sizing is pretty small to put them on strong value hands given that there could be pretty many draws on that board. A little pro is that you don't have any clubs, 8s and 9s as well, making it a tad more likely they have them.

The AK hand seems like a pretty standard 40 bigs shove, you have tons of fold equity and when called you're never doing too bad unless he wakes up with AA.
KJ hand, as said previously the flop bet seems super small - sounds like 2k into around 10k? Would definitely bet 4-5k here not planning to fold on such a draw heavy board.
