We are in a live tourney

Bi: $130

Blinds 200/400 50
Hero has 18bbs and is dealt to KQ

Hero opens early position to 800, Mp1, Mp2, Co, Btn and BB call. (6 players in total)

FLOP (5k) AQT
It checks all around.

TURN (5k) J
BB leads out for 2,5k
Villain is a old man rec, he is never bluffing here.He has the str8 or flush, we have the K.
Hero has 6,5k behind if i call i will be left with 10bbs.

What should I do here ? Call and fold to a river bet or gii ?

Thanks!!

As played, I'd GII, Outs to the nuts + He can have a straight here + 6 people in a raised pot gives you pretty good odds to win a good sized pot. Depending on how many people are behind you to act, I wouldn't mind a call either. Old man nut peddler is going to check the river if he has a straight. I lean towards GII though.

However, if 5 people are going to call your raise pre, then I think that you should have had some sign that your table is kind of stationy. An EP raise from an 18bb stack is STRONG, yet there are 5 callers. I'd probably shove pre.

I agree that min raise sizing pre when live is a mistake.

However, as played I think you need to call it off. You gain nothing by raising and i have seen many an 'old player who never bluffs' be caught out in exactly that.

They may be old but don't discount the possibility that they realise that their sterotype is of never bluffing - therfore they are encouraged to do so.

As a woman who occassionally plays live I can attest that young 'reg style' players overemphasize seterotypes way too much. FWIW, according to table talk post any 3 bet i make - I have to have Aces there

DANGER ALERT!

As posted, your deck has two Qs. One on the board; one on in your hand. This does sometimes happen in live play. I remember the horror of being in a $100 MTT some years ago where the Kh counterfeited itself in similar circumstances. Can't remember what the tournament director did to clean up that mess, but no solution for the immediate hand is fair.

Leaving that aside, I'd call Pops's bet and hope to get action from other players, too. You may be drawing to six or seven outs if there's already a made club flush -- and if so, you want as much money and as many other people in the hand as possible. If you're ultimately going to chop on a straight that doesn't improve, keeping the 2-pr hands in is probably worth it, too.

I'm going to call turn / call river as default with KQ. IF and IF you have some sick reads, then continue when you have a club and fold to a river bet if you do not. But you probably should just call down with all combos of KQ.

With players behind you that called preflop utg raise my standard line would be to call. We have the K of clubs and redraw to flush. Raising doesn't accomplish anything and folding is way too tight.
