there was an 8bb stack on the other table, is this way too nitty?

888 Poker - 4000/8000 Ante 1000 NL - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: 14.49 BB (VPIP: 25.71, PFR: 20.90, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 70)
CO: 34.32 BB (VPIP: 16.15, PFR: 12.10, 3Bet Preflop: 5.44, Hands: 772)
BTN: 55.22 BB (VPIP: 17.41, PFR: 7.14, 3Bet Preflop: 4.08, Hands: 204)
SB: 91.76 BB (VPIP: 18.42, PFR: 14.67, 3Bet Preflop: 2.86, Hands: 190)
Hero (BB): 28.7 BB

5 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.13 BB) Hero has Q 9

fold, fold, fold, SB raises to 2.58 BB, Hero calls 1.58 BB

Flop: (5.79 BB, 2 players) 9 2 7
SB checks, Hero bets 2 BB, SB raises to 89.05 BB and is all-in, fold

SB wins 9.79 BB

Ok, it's a FT bubble, but way too nitty IMHO. An x/raise of this kind is, most of the times, a semibluff (Just overcards, OESD, combo draw etc.). Our TPGK plays pretty good against this range. I don't think he would x/raise a set on that board with that effective stack, he'd mostly x/call OTF to reevaluate OTT. Maybe 79, but not Always, and we block some combos of it.

BTW, no x/raise flop infos? In 190 hands it could start meaning something for an mtt.

not thrilled to call it off against a guy playin 18/15/3 with 100BBs on a FT bubble but this is too good of a combo to fold i guess

No it's not nitty it's a winning play guy shoves on a dry board all you have is a pair of nines right before the ft Folding.

Are you serious? Ludicrous stack sizes, TPGK... And you think it's "just a pair of nines"?... LOL.

8Ts, AKs, AQs, J9s... I don't think it's impossible to imagine stuff like that behind that flop move. And, if v is a poor player, hands with a 7 are plausible, i.e. A7s with two hearts or diamonds.

I'd probably check a few more 9x than usual on this flop with icm, and I'd b/f a T9/J9. Having a hard time rationalising a fold with Q9 though.
