Pushing with Garbage in $200 Live

$100 buyin with $100 add on at the Gardens in LA.

Play is very unpredictable and can be very loose. Small ball nonexistant.

241 started session. Top 24 get $500 and final 11 come back next day to play with other qualifiers from three previous rounds.

We're down to around 75 players. Blinds are 200/800/1600. Half hour levels. Ten minutes to next level. I have $19500 left. I'm in cutoff. Button doesn't look interested. Button and two blinds have around $50,000. I'm the oldest player at the table. I've pushed twice in the last hour BTF and haven't been
called. I'm probably perceived as being tight. Potential villians are Vietmese.

I look at my mighty T5o and push. Results are unimportant.

Comments appreciated

Re: Pushing with Garbage in $200 Live

you can probably pass this, but calling ranges are sooooo tight in these $100 - $200 live events that even T5o is close to a shove, especially if the action is fast and furious and it's rarely folded to you in late position.

also remember that when us older guys shove, we're assumed to be bladed every time. make a point of saying 'my grandson says i should play more hands' before shoving. the blinds will assume you're opening your range up to JJ+/AK in a flight of fancy.

Commerce a few times, went to SDSU and ventured up that way. Also at Viejas and Barona, though obviously not the same.

It might be semi-accurate to assign broad generalizations to playing styles based on where someone is from, but I don't think it's particularly relevant in this hand. And it can also lead to a lot of inaccurate reads. Basically I just don't see what impact it has on shoving T5o here.
