One of my weakest areas is playing the small blind with a semi strong preflop hand in front of raise and call.......

Poker Stars $75+$7 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t50/t100 Blinds + t12 - 8 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

UTG+1: t5048 M = 20.52
MP1: t9976 M = 40.55
MP2: t4492 M = 18.26
CO: t4114 M = 16.72
BTN: t3557 M = 14.46
Hero (SB): t5060 M = 20.57
BB: t4153 M = 16.88
UTG: t6125 M = 24.90

Pre Flop: (t246) Hero is SB with T T
UTG raises to t235, 1 fold, MP1 calls t235, 1 fold, CO calls t235, 1 fold, Hero??

In this scenario I've got an UTG raise with 3 callers, no positional advantage post flop and not much information on either opponent (just moved to the table)

With 50BB's I don't particularly want to shove but If I 3bet then I would size it at around $1175 meaning that if I get just 1 caller the pot would be around $3k, i'd be out of position with a stack of $3885 so any cbet is pretty much committing me to the pot.

Based on that, am I now set mining with TT? Do I shove here? Do I stop and go? Or I dare I say it.......do I fold here?

Don't fold. Mostly call. But, with the right assumptions/stats of players in the pot, maybe something else.

Call. Don't get married to your hand if the flop is low and there's a lot of aggression from the other players.

Folding is bad, Shoving is ok, but I think flatting is best even though flatting in general is kind of a bad play in the sb. I wouldn't flat to setmine though.

SB is the toughest position to be in, you are first to act on every street, so you´re not the only one who has a hard time making decisions/play in spots like this.
Agree w/ @ampefund, i guess readless just flat and try to hit a set, never ever folding preflop, and yeah shoving is just terrible.

No way you can fold here with your stack. If you are flatting you are basically set mining. Which isn't that bad. You are creating an opportunity to beat somebody with set over set. That can give you a lot of chips. A flop with overcards should be a simple fold.

Somebody suggested that a jam wouldn't be that bad either. Another said it was terrible. I did some math on it.

3bet shoving really depends on the information you have on UTG. How wide his opening range is. In short. If he opens 12% of his range it is no jam. If he opens 15% a jam is profitable.

He probably calls your jam /w JJ+ AKo+ which is 3,02%. You have 33,66% equity vs that range.
So he either calls 1 out of 4 or 1 out of 5 times. I like to use percentages so 20 and 25%.

951(pot you win if fold) x 75 = 71.325
951(pot you win if fold) x 80 = 76.080

10836(pot if you get called) x 25 = 270.900
10836(pot if you get called) x 20 = 216.720

270.900 x 66,35% (times you loose if call) = 179.715,06
270,900 x 33,66% (times you win if call) = 91.184,94

216.720 x 66,35% (times you loose if call) = 143.772.05
216.720 x 33,66% (times you win if call) = 72.947.05

-179.715,06 + 91.184,94 + 71.325 = -17.205,64 (chips you lose vs 12% opening range)
- 143.772.05 + 72.947.05 + 76.080 = +5.255,9 (chips you win vs 15% opening range)

Now 3betting. I think you should make an even bigger 3bet. You are on the SB. That means you are even more committed if you would make a cbet. And every overcard is pretty ****ty.

So with flatting you put yourself in the most comfortable situation. You can easily fold to overcards. And you are able to collect a lot of chips if you hit your set.
