partypoker - 40000/80000 NL - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 44.71 BB (VPIP: 27.27, PFR: 16.99, 3Bet Preflop: 7.06, Hands: 212)
Hero (BB): 26.39 BB
BTN: 38.03 BB (VPIP: 25.97, PFR: 18.85, 3Bet Preflop: 8.21, Hands: 338)

3 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.88 BB) Hero has 9 Q

BTN raises to 2.1 BB, fold, Hero calls 1.1 BB

Flop: (5.08 BB, 2 players) 3 2 A
Hero checks, BTN bets 1.75 BB, Hero calls 1.75 BB

Turn: (8.58 BB, 2 players) K
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: (8.58 BB, 2 players) J
Hero checks, BTN bets 4 BB, fold

BTN wins 12.58 BB

I didn't feel like bluffing here cause because of my stack he would probably expect me to 3b or shove a lot of aces pre and also my range is full of busted draws so he would probably call often with a J or K

Seems fine. Not a good spot to bluff considering his likely holding and your respective ranges. Not sure you would bet an ace on the river with this board anyway.

This is a really bad response, Betgo. We're not ripping all our Ax, we have some two pair, we have stuff for value. The guy has opened button and then cbet/checked back the turn. If you don't bluff this line then you're doing it wrong.

Hands that check are pairs below Ax(might even bet some K) and we have a lot of those.

you must bet here, after calling the flop you have decided which line you choose and you cant win with Q high here

Yeh, I see your point. The reason I don't mind the check is that two other high cards hit, which makes it more likely he has a pair, and harder for you to represent a value bet having called with the ace.

Pbb one of spots where we would have s*it on this texture by the river and won't have high betting freq at all so bluffing Q-high isn't imperative here imo.
We don't defend many 2x, 3x pre and c/r A3,A2 very high freq.

Yes we do have A4+, K3,K2 (esp w/ a bdfd etc.) not bluffing after miss draw
And vs BU i wouldn't x/r with a high frequency this board w/ 2p+, for obv reasons (really depends on his cbet tendencies, I might x/r as a bluff w/ something like 6d5d or weaker fds)

Textbook riverbluff spot. Good risk/reward for a pot that is a huge% of your stack.

on this flop vs btn, I very often check raise or donk bet / 3bet on the flop. is this bad play? I feel like button is usually full of sht, and a queen high FD for us vs btn is like the nuts.

I don't think we ever check raise bluff the river especially after we check all streets don't no how many legit hands we play this way and how much credit Villian would give us. I think we definitely could lead out bluff on the river repping weak ax knowing that Villian should probably continue turn with all of his aces

how is our range "full of busted draws"? I don't think gutshots w/o bdfd defend flop much so we really will lack pure bluffs on this runout as 90+% of our flop xc range is either a pair or makes a pair ott

so yes i think it's mandatory bluff otr, its true we have some sdv but its still not gonna be higher EV to check than to bet and its not close imo vs. flop rangebet by BTN

This player probably barrels air on the turn alot so I'd limit my bluffs here to T hi and worse
