We are in the money and down to 18 players. Blinds are 5000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante. Our stack of 200,000 equates to 20 BB. We are playing well and making good decisions. 9th-18th all pay about the same, but the real money in this tournament is paid to the top 3 spots. We want to get to the final table with strong stack.

Villain 1 limps from early position. followed by villain 2 who also limps. Villain 3 in Middle position raises 5X (stack of about 20X) Folds to us in late position. We have 20X and we look down at AK offsuit. We 3-Bet shove. Is this anything but a shove? We block some AA & KK combinations, so it's harder for him to have us crushed. He is probably calling off with QQ, JJ, & 10,10 and its a race. Villain probably has to fold AQ, 77, 88, & 99 and anything worse.

As played, Villain calls with AK offsuit, and wins the pot when 4 diamonds hit the board, giving Villain a flush. Is it possible to call pre and fold the flop when we miss? I think it's better to 3-Bet shove pre and exert maximum pressure on the Villain. Your thoughts?

We lack Holdem Manager stats on the villain because the program won't work since NJ WSOP's update around 6 weeks ago.

Clear shove. Your hand is way too strong to consider folding when missed flop. I would be more concerned about his hand range. If he is a reg he is never 5x raising with medium pocket pairs. He will instantly shoves these hands. AJ as well. I could see him raising with AQ+ TT+. He will call whole that range to your 20 bb jam. There already is ~4,5 bbs dead money in the pot(limps/bbs/antes). Try the calculate your EV and you see that your jam is good.
