This is villain's first 3bet (at least an hour of play w/ him). I've been probably the most active at the table but the table has been very slow so it's not saying much. First question is about preflop. What's the best line? Was conflicted because I know
1) If I flat, the other villain is going to call with odds and it's going to be 3-way
2) but the 3bet pre seemed fairly strong given it's size from OOP and it was his first, so I didn't want to 4bet
3) would've been lost if I did 4bet
Thoughts? in my head I was ranking options something like call>4bet 10000/f>4bet/call>fold but I'd like to hear some input.
Once I get to the flop should I peel? What's my plan if I am doing anything besides folding? This felt super nitty, but I wasn't sure if I beat anything besides AK.
i like this line. to mashxx: i think its quite the opposite -> in tourneys like this, u indeed should give credit for a hand in spots like this, whereas in higher stakes we assign lighter ranges. v's sizing si nice otf, there is a tempatation to call and hope he checks turn. then again, 99-TT also sucked us out, so all we have is AK (and air), which we beat and AKcc has tons of equity.
The Problem is when you call preflop you have to call at least one time on that board.
So you eitherway get it Allin Pre, which might be pretty borderline or you have to fold an move on. But Call 3bet and than folding on Flop is not that good at all
I don`t like 4bet and think SB 3bet range is strong considering his sizing and the fact it`s $5c (Finnera is right there).
But can`t we really flat 3bet? Presuming we`re against strong SB range and CO (who`s mostly calling pre wide and going nowhere hitting some part of board) makes IPO even better we at least could set-mine?
I was kind of half set-mining half nitting half unsure and half pot-controlling (yeah, that's 4 halves, dealwithit.jpg). i prob have to peel on most flops that aren't like AKx or KQx or whatever, but i think besides those, this is the flop least likely to leave me being good w/ or w/out his bet into 2 people. there are tons of flops i'm peeling that don't contain Jx... but that makes me still confused about preflop, cause it seems contradictory in some theoretical aspect.

I think those T and 9 rarely hits 3bettor range, but it could hit CO range (with your reads).
And when you`re not closing the action I think peeling is gross indeed.
P.S. What about 4b/f-ing JJ? You`re kidding or what?
4b pre in this spot vs him is reaaaaaaaally awful
his sizing pre is pretty nutted, not sure if i could fold OTF tho especially with two backdoor draws and position
I like the 4b/f option, I would size a little bigger someting like 12791. If he shoves on u you still have around 30bb in a nitty table.
Otherwise, I would fold against this villain.
