Nearing bubble - standard? Nearing bubble - standard?

Live USD 500 BI tourney, nearing bubbe, 47 left. 40 pay with a mincash of USD 950
Blinds 4000 - 8000 - 500
AVG: 155.000
9 handed
VI: Recreational player. Limps a lot and never seen him do it with premiums.
VII: Solid player. Has been playing shortish for a couple of orbits and seems to be aware of ICM and playing a decent push/ fold strategy

UTG: V - 185.000
HJ: VII - 83.000
SB: Hero - 107.000

Hand: JJ

Pre: UTG limps, HJ shoves 83.000, hero shoves 107.000

Is this completely standard? What should be the bottom of our reshove range here?

If your reads are correct, I would say reshoving JJ is standard. If HJ is competent, he has probably also picked up on UTGs limp-fold tendencies and might attack a bit wider than usual.

That being said, I would use a pretty tight reshove range here due to ICM considerations. Prob like AQ+ and 99+ might seem super tight but yeah. I think 99 is still a call because he might attack the weak limp with a lot of PPs, if not then prob TT+.

It's also good to note that our range here depends on the stack sizes the rest of the field has. If everyone is short we must be a lot tighter to commit with no fold equity. If we are one of the 3-4 shorter stacks, we can widen up a little.

Just my 2 cents, eager to hear other opinions.

I think you need to be pretty tight here, especially in a live setting.
Nevertheless, I'm very happy to get in TT+ and AK. 99 and AQ should be a shove against most opponents and there is no reason to believe this villain is extremely nitty.
Not sure about 88, 77 and AJs in this spot and the icm pressure... Depends whether HJ is pushing A5 and stuff like that. Online, I call with those and probably also AJo, maybe ATs as well.
I would fold my other hands.

So yes, with JJ, it is definitely a standard hand to lose with here! ;-)

People has given you great information already. I would like to add something. For determing the range of V2 I would like to look at previous limping plays of V1. How often has he limped UTG? How often did a he call a 2bet? How often did he fold to a cbet? Have people been shoving on him earlier after a limp? How did he react to that?

If V1 is passive and your read on V2 is correct. V2 can be exploiting V1 and therefor shove wider. Your JJ is even better in that case.

If your primary goal is ITM at this stage, you might consider different play. I'm not letting go of JJ in this spot, pretty std in 'my book'

You have 13,375 Big blind, this is a re-shove 100% of the time, I even do this on the bubble.

as others have shown, there is much data missing that might help us answer your question in detail...

WITHOUT that data, yes, standard shove all-day long...

what would help us? answers to:

- are you one of 7 OTM ? i assume not
- if you're not, how far are you from bubble?
- are those 7 currently OTM very very short (<8 BB) ?
- is your goal simply to cash?

- what do you know about initial limper? will he ever call all-in here after
you do? i dont want to play JJ against 2 opponents here... that would be
begging for 2 (or 3) overs against you and why flip now??

if things play out as i suspect is the case here, yup, you jam, initial limper folds and with any luck, the dude before you has an under pair, or simply an under card.......
