Level 4 in a WSOPc Bounty Event, $365 buy-in. 4th level, 100/200 no antes.

Starting stack is 10,000. Hero took a bad beat and was down to 3000ish but built back up to 5,150 when this hand came up in middle position.

UTG Folds
UTG +1 raises to 550 (player just sat down to table and no info yet)
UTG +2 folds
UTG +3 folds
HERO raises to 2500 with J

Folds back to UTG +1 who calls

Flop:
9

UTG+1 checks
Hero???

-Was the pre-flop raise too much? Did I totally commit myself?
-Is this an instant push?

Your 3bet was massive and you have 1/2 pot left in your stack so stick it in the middle and hope he calls with a dominated pair.

I'm just confused as to what options you think you have on the flop. What else can you do than bet the measly 2600 you have left into this 5300 pot? What real purpose would checking serve? That's why you are getting semi trolled.

Calling or jamming both seem better than 3b less than allin to me. I probably call here, and jam if it was 100/200/25 instead. 3b a normal amount to say 1300 is suspicious still since we are 3b 1/4 of our stack and now if he flats the stacks are really awkward.

As played, we have to get it in on something like a K94 flop, so obv we are snap-highfive-getting it in on 942 when we have 1/2 pot left in stack.

Interesting how V raise to 550 at 100/200 affects our play. If was 400 then 3bet to 900-950 is reasonable. If 600 then easy shove. Not that V took that into consideration, but still.
