Just got home from a Live tourney at my local Casino in Germany. I am really running this hand through my head over and over.

$55 Buy in, You start very deep with 300B but blinds go up every 20 mins and in relatively steep amounts.

~1.5 hour in, Blinds are 200/400 with Ante of 50

Hero (18k 45 BB), : 30 yrs old, talkative at table and having fun but not discussing poker strategy. Seen as TAG.

Villian (30k 75BB), : Mid-Late 20's, limp-calling a TON. Floating/chasing almost every flop. Doesn't show-down often.

THE HAND:

Folds to Villian on CO who Limps for 400
Hero Raises to 1300 with ATdd
BB Calls (He calls with any 2 cards and tries to outplay every flop)
Villian Calls

(Pot 4500) Flop: A Q J Rainbow

Check, Check to Hero
Hero Bets 2k
BB Folds
Villian Calls

(Pot 8500) Turn: 10

Villian Checks
Hero Bets 3k (Line Check?)
Villian Raises to 6.1k
Hero Calls...

Here I am calling a min raise, 3k, to win potentially 20k. I am hoping for a K to chop, A or T to boat and get the rest of my 9k in, or possibly get a showdown against a bluff, QJ, Q10, J10, or which is the reason I bet the turn

(Pot 20.5k) River: J

Villian Bets 7k

Hero...?

I feel like I got myself in a pretty ****ty position. Any responses are appreciated.

Spoiler:
Hero Folds and Villian shows T9o

I don't hate the bet on the turn, but when I am check raised it looks like he is quite strong. I would call the check raise on the turn and fold the river to a bad card and a Jack on the river is a bad card IMO.

check behind turn. this is a way ahead/way behind spot and if you are ahead villain has few outs with any hand he might have. plus check behind on the turn induces river bluffs from the villain and allows you to bluffcatch, while at the same time controlling the size of the pot.

I like what AALegend said above with checking the turn. That's some great advice with a draw heavy board to try to get to the showdown cheaply and maybe snap off a loose player who is bluffing. I certainly don't like your 3k bet into an 8500 pot with the texture of the cards, that just screams weakness and it appears your opponent picked up on that which is why they reraised. By calling his reraise on the turn you have put over half of your stack into this pot which is not good at all. Perhaps a fold would have been better when they reraised or even an all-in if you read them as weak/bluffing. Nevertheless, the way things played out for you by folding on the river you will be left with around 9k which is 22 BB which is more than enough to make some moves with and there will certainly be better spots for you to get all your money in with.

Check turn for sure. He prolly has you crushed on turn but odds and meh spot.
River is prolly the easiest card to get away from your hand so unless you want to run some crazy bluffjam I dunno why you posted river. If he was running a bluff with Ax blocker you call for a split. Otherwise he is way ahead or on a 100% bluff which is not likely.

At these stakes in live play, the kind of play this villain does is relatively common. Which is why I'm pot controlling a lot in these tournaments.
Given this angle that I have, this is a no-brainer check on the turn, with the intention of calling moderately-sized bets on the river.

As played (bet turn), you don't have the direct odds to call if you think you're behind (less than 7 to 1 on 4 clean outs and 3 split-pot outs). I know you think you may be ahead sometimes, but what if a 2 comes on the river and villain bets the same amount on the river? Do you call in that spot? What if the river completes a backdoor flush and villain bets this amount? Do you call?
In your player profile, you said yourself that villain chases tons preflop and on the flop, but does not show down a lot. That means that on the turn, he will either give up or the times he continues on the turn he will continue on the river. Otherwise, he would have tons of showdowns given his preflop and flop tendencies.
So you should be ready for a river bet.

Anyways, just a little additional thought for the turn fold as played.
