Hi guys, so two spots i have some issues with in last nights tournament at the local Grosvenor that i would like some thoughts on.
First hand:
Hero is SB with A
K
Action is folded to Utg+1.
UTG+1: seems an ok player in general, but nothing special at all, as has made a few pretty bad plays. Has c/r jammed Q
10
on a Q
7
4
seemingly for value, snapped off by 7
7
. I have had 3 occasions where i have tried to steal, twice he has flatted my c bets on favourable flops, given up ott and c/f. Once he decided to raise my cbet of 6.5k into a 14k pot to 37k (wtf), on a 7
3
7
and showed 4
4
claiming because he didnt want me to see any more overs. Have not seen him show a bluff yet, but have the feeling in previous pots he may have done.
Blinds 1.5k, 3k, ante 300. Villain raises to 6k (35bb-40bb deep). Folded to hero in sb who makes it 17k (25bb-30bb) Villain tank calls.
Flop: 9
4
4
Hero checks, villain leads for 35k into a 40k pot. Hero?
Hand 2:
13 players left, 8 places paid (£930, £660, £420, £260, £220, £180, £120, £100). Average stack is 9-10bb, hero has 8bb.
Villain (15bb deep) open jams utg. Seems like a fairly solid old reg, dont remember an instance where he has got out of line. short stack (5bb) mp1 jams also. has been jamming frequently. Hero is Mp2 with A
Q
Considering that the average stack is only 10bb, and with the likely aspect that if we made it to the cash, there is a chance that the table could chop money evenly regardless of stack sizes, should we ever be folding AQ here with 8 bigs?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
