Hit this spot in a Tournament last night, still mulling it over in my head so thought i'd post here and share it with you all seeing as i've gained a lot of great information as i'm starting to take Poker more seriously.

About 4 hours into a 100 player live MTT, 40 remain with 15 getting paid. Villian 1 has just moved onto the table and i've never played with them before, hasn't seen me in a hand either so can presume completely opinionless. Rough Breakdown of the hand (Should have recorded it better at the time in hindsight)

Blinds are 600/1200 with a 100 Ante (8 Handed)

Hero (~25 BB) raises UTG +1 with JcJh to 2.5BB
Villian 1 (~22 BB) calls in the CO
Villian 2 (~50 BB) calls in the BB

Flop - 6h10cQc
Pot - ~10k

Villian 2 Checks, Hero Checks, Villian 1 Shoves for ~20k

Villian 2 Folds, Hero?

I feel like my main mistake was not continuing on the flop?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

Spoiler:
Hero folds

Preflop, with antes in the mix, your opening raise is small enough that a lot of borderline overcards will call you. I'd think about opening a little stronger if you don't want to play multiway against K9s; QTo, etc.

As played, the flop fold is fine. I'd figure much of Villain's range involves strong draws on what's a well-coordinated board. You're ahead, but not by a huge amount. Most of the rest of his range is Qx or 66, and then you're drawing very thin.

If you bet the flop, the strong draws and the made hands can raise it up anyway. Then you're under a lot of pressure to fold, or bet your tournament life on JJ with a board that's not friendly. So even though your flop line feels weak, I don't think a C-bet gets you to a better place.

I just modeled up JJ on Slice vs. a top-15% caller in the CO and a top 25% caller in the BB -- which is basically the situation here. If everything goes to the river, you win 45% of the time; CO 30%; BB 25%. And 19% of the time, you're winning because a third J showed up. Basic point: JJ unimproved in a 3-way flop can sometimes work out, but the odds do not reward you for getting stubborn about it.

You played it fine.

If you are going to change your pre-flop bet size, then make it 2.25x with only 20 BB's. Raising your pre-flop bet size based on strength of hand is a big tell in live poker especially at these $100 to $200 MTT's.

Betting out vs. 2 opponents on this flop with an overcard would also have been fine but you would have to bet about 3 BB's and CO is can easily have hands like AQ/KQ/QJs etc. CO won't always bluff here vs 2 opponents...

I like the fold here. There was no option to continue and flipping here is bad.

In a $100 MTT making it 2.5x pre exploitively with this hand is okay since being balanced for a $100 live MTT isn't that important. As for regular sizing with your steals definitely size down to 2.1-2.3x. As for flop pretty easy check. Betting the flop is just setting yourself up for bad situations on future streets. Once the guy 2x pot shoves 100% folding JJ here. Even if you knew he was capable of doing this with his flush draws, you have Jc in your hand which gives him less flush combos and having 2 Js cuts down his straight combos. Everything about this hand was played well.

Yeah it's a sick feeling when you know V can be jamming way way wider than Qx
I call these spots far more often than those above. Live reads very useful.
